Legends of Runeterra (LOR) Patch 1.12 breakdown: All you need to know

Learn all about the Patch update!

Riot has unveiled what is in store for the next Legends of Runeterra (LOR) patch after the Patch 1.12 release. The Legends of Runeterra (LOR) Patch 1.12 comes out on October 14. Therefore, today in this article, we will go over the changes in Patch 1.12. Moreover, we will go over the additional content being added besides the cards from the Monuments of Power expansion.

Balance changes

Genevieve Elmheart

Legends of Runeterra Patch 1.12, LOR Patch 1.12

This is an odd change coming up in the game. Scouts is a strong deck but there are much more powerful decks on the ladder currently. This doesn’t really kill the card, but it does hurt a decent bit.

Bastion

Legends of Runeterra Patch 1.12, LOR Patch 1.12

This card has turned into a real monster ever since the Giga buff it received the last patch. Will making it 4 mana be enough to balance it? 4 mana does make it a lot harder to play consistently so there’s a chance it’s enough.

Hush

The long-awaited Hush nerf is arriving in the game. This will tone the card down and make it a lot more niche and meta dependent.

Living Legends

Living Legends gets hurt a little. Hopefully, it’s enough to consider other high costed Celestial cards. This small balance patch is underwhelming, especially since it didn’t even touch on Lee Sin, who is dominating the ladder. However, RubinZoo (live design lead) mentions that Lee Sin will receive adjustments in patch 1.13. He also mentioned how the team is going to be more careful with maintaining stability in the metagame moving forward.

Labs

The developers talk about how they’ll be experimenting with faster Lab rotations. During the first week of the expansion, players will be getting a new Lab centered around the new Landmark cards. In this new Lab, called A Landmark Occasion, you’ll choose between six decks, all showcasing a Landmark and filled with cards to support said Landmark.

In week 2 there will be the return of the first Lab ARAM. For those who are new to the game or simply forgot, in this Lab rather than building a deck, you choose from a mulligan full of champions to compose your opening hand and your deck.
