The new Hero Carmilla is coming to Mobile Legends‘ original server on January 17th. Like most other Heroes, she will be available on the Shop for 32000 Battlepoints (BP) or 599 Diamonds. As always, players get a 30% discount on Diamonds for the first week.
But should you buy her? To simplify the decision, we’ll give you an overview of her skillset, character and playstyle.
The Shadow of Twilight
As you might have guessed, Carmilla is the vampire bride of Cecilion, who is available on the Advanced Server already. Born into nobility, her father forced her to marry a general of the imperial army. However, Carmilla fell in love with the opera singer Cecilion and she didn’t even care about his Blood Demon nature when she found out.
Although everyone around her forbade this love, she never stopped fighting for it, eventually slitting her own wrists. Upon awakening, she found herself in Cecilion’s arms, revived by his blood and they lived happily ever after.
So if you’re looking for heartbreaking romance or just your daily dose of Vampire Diaries, Carmilla is your Hero to go.

Skillset
Coming to the more relevant parts, Carmilla excels at Initiation and Crowd Control, therefore her main role is going to be Support. When fighting alongside her lover Cecilion, he gains access to an additional ability, causing Carmilla to become untargetable for a short duration.
Vampire Pact
Carmilla steals 10-20 Physical & Magic Defense (scales with level) from the enemies while dealing damage to them. Each target can be stolen only once in 5s. The stolen Physical & Magic Defense can be stacked up to 5 times. Lasts for 5s.
Crimson Flower
Cooldown: 10s
Carmilla increases 25% movement speed and summons 2 Crimson Flowers to spin around herself, lasting for 5s. Enemies hit by the Crimson Flowers will receive Magic Damage and be slowed down by 30%. Meanwhile, the spinning speed of the Crimson Flowers will be increased for 0.8s. Each time the Crimson Flowers deal damage to enemies, Carmilla will restore HP. (If the target is a minion, restores 30% of the amount only.)
Bloodbath
Cooldown: 12s
Carmilla accumulates Bloodbath Energy, greatly increasing her movement speed by 60%(decays rapidly in 3.5s).
Use again: Carmilla casts Bloodbath Energy to a designated enemy (can’t target at the minion), dealing Magic Damage and stunning enemies for 0.75s. The damage and the stunning time scale with the Bloodbath Energy accumulation, capped at 100%.
Curse of Blood
Cooldown: 40s
Carmillal casts Curse of Blood in a designated direction. The Curse will spread out from the enemy hit to nearby enemy heroes, dealing Magic Damage and slowing them down by 90% for 5s (decay rapidly to 30% in 3s).
The Curse can be inflicted to up to 3 targets at the same time.
As long as one target with the Curse of Blood is damaged or controlled, the other influenced targets will also receive damage and CC effect (damage decreased to 70%, CC duration decreased to 50%).

[Moonlit Waltz]
Cooldown: 60s
When Carmilla is nearby, Cecilion can call her to turn into Vermeil Shadow around him, giving them a shield. Carmilla can choose the target’s location and land at the location, causing Magic Damage to the nearby enemies and slows them down. Damage and shield scale with Carmilla’s level.
Carmilla cannot activate the ability herself.
Gameplay
As a short-ranged Hero in Mobile Legends, Carmilla should opt for some defensive items and try to catch squishy priority targets off-guard. While having access to CC and speed-boosts, she lacks mobility, making her vulnerable to kiting.
In exchange, Crimson Flowers provide her lots of sustain and effective tankiness. Both CC and Defense shredding make her very deadly with bursty teammates such as Aurora. Especially against melee characters, Carmilla will have an easy time fighting without taking any damage while whittling down the whole enemy team.
She somewhat relies on potent teammates since her damage output is limited. But then again, her kit provides such a huge amount of CC, debuffs and sustain that one can’t expect burst on-top of it. Players might need some time to get used to her playstyle in order to capitalize on her strengths, but it’s really hard to look at her skills without thinking “OP”.
