1. Make sure that you are tactically placing your cards during the match
In Soccer Hero: PvP Football Game, you assume the role of a coach which means, you do not need to manually control your players. You just need to make the tactical picks and AI would do the rest. Each game consists of three rounds initially, followed by five in the later stages as you level up.
A team can get a maximum of three attacking opportunities, one in each round. To start with, you get to pick two players out of three available options from your deck. The game starts from the centre line in the first round and hence, look to field a midfield option first.
- If you are attacking in any given round, place a midfielder and a forward-line player while your opposition team will field a midfield and a defense-line player. The thumb rule for getting past the opposition’s defense and involving in a 1V1 scoring opportunity with your opposition goalkeeper is placing a forward-line player with higher attacking stats on the field when compared to your opposition player’s defensive stats.
- Similarly, when you attack in one round, in the next round your opposition will have possession and will look to attack. 2. Upgrade your superstars whenever possible
Your player cards earn Experience Points (XPs) with each PVP game that they participate in. As they keep on accumulating XPs, at one stage, they would be available for an upgrade. Make sure that you are checking out your deck frequently to see if any of your players are available for updates.
- Visit the Deck section from the bottom of the game screen.
- To upgrade your superstar card, tap on the card.
- Two options, namely, Upgrade and Swap would pop up on your screen. Tap on the Upgrade option.
- Finally, tap on the upgrade button to successfully level up your superstar card. Each upgrade requires spending certain in-game Coin currency.
Upgrading your player cards can further increase their attacking or defending stats based on player position thereby enhancing in-game performance. You can also earn upgrade versions of your existing player cards from the player packs. In this scenario, you can directly upgrade your player card by visiting the Deck section and spending the required Coins, i.e., you do not need to wait for them to accumulate those XPs.
3. Put the re-roll items to good use during PVP matches
Just as we discussed above, the game comes with a special re-roll item that can be utilized in each round before placing your cards on the pitch. Say, your opponent has the possession and you need to defend. In that case, a scenario might come wherein, in a given round, you have only Midfielders and Attacking players to choose from. Or, a scenario might come where you are attacking and only have Midfielders to choose from.
If you place player cards in the wrong positions, this will lead to a significant drop in their overall stats. While the former scenario leaves your opponent with an open chance for scoring, the latter scenario reduces your chances of scoring, since midfielders are equipped with less shot power.
In such situations, if you have the re-roll item available, do not hesitate to use it at all by tapping on it. This would reshuffle your lot of available cards and provide new options to choose from. Even if you run out of re-roll items, you can exchange them with Cash from the game’s store section.
4. Unlock new Stadiums, Formations, and rewards by participating in PVP matches
To start with, you will only have one stadium and one formation (2-1-2) available. With each PVP match that you win in Soccer Hero: PvP Football Game, you go on accumulating trophies. After earning some trophies, you get to unlock new stadiums, formations, player cards, and rewards. This further ensures that you have more options to choose from about player formations and player decks thereby testing your coaching skills further.
Initially, you will be mapped with easier opponents with lower stats. However, as you progress, things will be different and if your players have weaker attacking/defense stats than your opponent’s players, you will end up losing.
As a beginner, you won’t have enough access to Cash and will discover that it’s a pretty scarce resource. Hence, save your Cash currencies, and later when you have accumulated enough Cash resources, utilize them in unlocking Epic Player Packs as you will need players with higher stats in the later stages of the trophy road. However, regarding player upgrades, you should not hesitate to use your Coins as they are easily available.
6. Switch around your line-up of players whenever you have unlocked new player cards
As and when you unlock new player cards with better statistics, you must ensure that you are adding them to your first line-up. This can be done by simply doing a player swap.
- Visit the Deck section from the bottom of the game screen.
- To swap your superstar card, tap on the card.
- Two options, namely, Upgrade and Swap would pop up on your screen. Tap on the Swap option.
- Finally, tap on the Player card with whom you want to swap your current line-up member.
If you are not swapping and adding your newly obtained player cards to your line-up, they won’t be available for selection during PVP matches. Even if you are utilizing the re-roll feature, only player cards that are unlocked and present in your squad are available for re-shuffling. Hence, whenever you unlock new and better player cards, always look to add them to your squad by performing a player swap.
