Tower of Fantasy Ruby Guide: Character information

Ruby is a very mysterious character, and her origins are not exactly unknown. According to some people, She is the daughter of an old friend of Lin’s which would explain why Lin takes care of her all the time. Lin and Ruby are seen together so often, that people would occasionally find it strange if one of them is alone.

Lin even got the Research and Development department to make a specialized weapon for Ruby “Spark”.  This special weapon not only acts as a protection for Ruby but has an advanced AI integrated with it, due to which Spark has grown to become a companion for Ruby and guides her wherever possible. From waking her up and even helping her find Lin if she ever gets lost.

On being hit, it deals damage up to 350% of ATK + 37 and inflicts a 25-second Emblazen mark on the target. At the same time, Spark fires 4 bullets with each bullet dealing damage equal to 50% of ATK + 3 against its target.

Spark’s normal attacks deal 30% more damage to Emblazen-marked targets. When Sparks hit targets burned by the Wanderer, it burns or ignites the target once and deals additional damage equal to 45% of the total remaining damage (multiple burn or incendiary effects are counted together). The result calculation cooldown is 6 seconds, and the skill cooldown is 30 seconds.

Passive: When Sparks is active, each time Spark Attack deals damage, the Wanderer gains 1 point of Heal with a 0.9-second cooldown, for up to 8 points of Heat. When Heat reaches the maximum, the Wanderer gains the effect of Ultimate Heat, increasing flame ATK by 10% for 25 seconds.
Super Nova (Discharge)When the weapon charge is full or Phantasia is triggered, switching to this weapon from another weapon removes all debuffs from the wielder. Spark enters a charged state, continuously blasting searing energy beams at the target location before eventually exploding, dealing damage equal to 750% of ATK + 39.

When Spark hits targets burned by the Wanderer, it burns or ignites the target once and deals additional damage equal to 45% of the total remaining damage (multiple burn or incendiary effects are counted together). The result calculation cooldown is 6 seconds. Damage immunity lasts for 1.5 seconds when the skill is active (unavailable in Apex League).

Best Matrices Build for Ruby in Tower of Fantasy

In this guide, we will discuss the best Matrices build for Ruby in Tower of Fantasy along with all their roles.

Support / SUB DPS Build

Ruby is a powerful Hybrid-DPS character that can either be played as a Full DPS or a dedicated Shieldbreaker. She is best paired with another Flame element character to activate the Flame Resonance, which will provide an extra Flame Attack buff for both of them. She can also provide a decent Shatter even when she is a DPS-type character, this shatter damage is not comparable to pure Tanks but is better than most of the DPS characters.

Ruby Matrix (SSR)

  • 2-piece Set: After using the weapon skill, Flame ATK is increased by 15%/18%/21%/25% for 25 seconds. The effect works in the background, and if multiple sets are used, the highest star set will take effect (does not stack).
  • 4-piece Set: After releasing the weapon skill, gain Mastery for 15 seconds, cooldown for 15 seconds. While Mastery is active, successful basic attacks increase Flame damage by 4%/5%/6%/7%, up to 6 stacks, with a cooldown of 0.2 seconds between stacks. At 6 stacks, gain a shield to resist damage 1 time. Mastery cannot be stacked, and different levels of mastery share cooldown.

Samir Matrix (SSR)

  • 2-piece Set: Increase damage progressively by 1% upon hitting a target. Stack up to 10/13/16/20 times. Lasts 1.5 seconds.
  • 4-piece Set: Increase Dual EM Stars’ electrical explosion damage by 16%/22%/30%/40% of ATK.

Crow Matrix (SSR)

  • 2-piece Set: Increase crit damage to targets with less than 60% HP by 24%/30%/36%/42%.
  • 4-piece Set: Crits deal additional damage over time equal to 18%/22%/26%/30% of ATK every second for 5 seconds. Does not stack.

Hybrid Matrices Sets

Aside from the 4pc Marix sets, you can also try for hybrid sets of 2pc since SSR matrices are not that easy to obtain currently and most players won’t have specific ones. You can pair a number of matrices together to form double 2pc effects, like 2pc Samir + 2pc Ruby for buffing total damage by a great margin.  2pc Crow matrix can also be added in various combinations.

Best Team Comps for Ruby in Tower of Fantasy

In this guide, we will discuss about the best team comps for Ruby in Tower of Fantasy.

DPS Flame Team

Ruby + King + Cobalt-B

This character combination is a full offensive team geared for more damage in less time. In this team, Cobalt-B can provide sustained damage during downtime, and Ruby along with King can act as the Shieldbreakers and also deal damage with their other abilities.

Ruby has higher on-field damage than the rest of the team, and when she gains another Flame character, she can activate her Flame Resonance to shred enemies quickly. This is somewhat of a risky team since the hardest content in the game has prolonged battles and one mistake can ruin that very easily. It is recommended to use this team in Bygone Phantasm and Solo content.

Ruby + Cobalt-B +  Zero / Nemesis

Another alternative DPS team includes adding a Healer or Support at the third slot. The best option for that is either Nemesis and Zero, with Nemesis having a slight edge over Zero, since she has a unique crowd control ability and much powerful heals.

PvP Team

Ruby + Huma + Nemesis

For PvP focused team, Huma and Nemesis can be paired with Ruby to form a very solid combination. Nemesis is unrivalled when it comes to PvP battles, and Huma can provide sustained charged attacks that can break shied very quickly. Adding a powerful Relic on top of this team will make any opponent quite helpless in battle aside from the Ice Meta teams.

Aside from PvP, this team should be your go-to -team for various co-op content, since having both a shield breaker and healer will make it easier for your co-op teams, dedicated healer and tank to work in the battle.
