How to progress in the Unity Cup Career in Umamusume Pretty Derby

1. Training and Career

The Half Anniversary introduces a new career scenario for the racers at Tracen Academy. Guide your trainee and her teammates to victory in the new team-based Career Scenario, Unity Cup: Shine On, Team Spirit.

Compared to the base game’s career, which only focuses on your sole uma getting the best stats possible and winning all the races you get her in. In the Unity Cup career scenario, you have to train your personally selected team of cards and partner trainers, as well as those default game ones that are gonna be joining you as a team.

2. Card Choices and Strategy

You can choose the usual cards and training partner that you have in your loadout, but if you have training partners and support cards with the highlighted Scenario Link, you can unselect them and choose different ones because these are the ones that will join you by default as your career progresses.

Things to remember, even the guest cards and trainees with scenario link will also show in scenario link, so you don’t want to waste your limited hire option on something the game provides you for free, and better choose the ones that are not there to get the maximum stats gains.

This career slightly favours your chosen uma if she is linked with a scenario like Taiki Shuttle, Rice Shower, Matikanefukukitaru, and Haru Urara as main leads, since the career mainly focuses on them going through the career as a team.

3. Unity Training

The training in the Unity Cup career is a bit different compared to the base career. Let me explain how.
Here, when you train your stats, you have to focus on the members that joined you in this scenario as well by balancing training your personal stats and the team’s.

The caveat here is that when you train, those present on that particular stat gain the stat as well, but not only that, the more members present on that stat training, the bigger the gain you get. You will notice a small bar with blue fire on your supporter icon; it will fill up the more training you do together.

When the bar is full and the fire is deep blue, it means a particular stats grade of a member is going to change, and you will find yourself with bonus stats points. Always focus on the ones with a bigger number of blue fire, and do not miss the deep blue fire that is necessary to win the Unity Cup as a whole, and not lose a single race.

Do not attempt any race in the Unity Cup that you don’t have the stats and grades for, but worry not if even if you lose all the races in the Unity Cup, it’s not a career over, the personal career will still move forward to the Tracen Finale.

If you win all five Unity Cup races, you’ll unlock an achievement, a new concert song, and extra gems. So make sure you don’t lose any of them. Most importantly, enjoy the story of the Career mode — it’s absolute cinema. PS: I was really lucky to get the Hot Spring Ticket on this run while preparing this guide.
