UnderGuild: Offense Beginners Guide and Tips

Clear relentless waves of monsters and Bosses easily!

UnderGuild: Offense is a strategic, roguelike hack-and-slash title from LiberalDust. Although the gameplay looks pretty simple, it involves some strategic thinking. So, in this UnderGuild: Offense Beginners Guide and Tips, I will provide some tips and tricks to help you get started and improve your gameplay experience.

UnderGuild: Offense Guide Overview

Let’s start with the gameplay overview to help you get a clear idea of how it works. So, you begin the game with three turorials, where you’re introduced to all the game elements. Similar to Archero 2, you gain a buff as you level up your hero and then you can select from mercenaries and buffs to go around and eliminate monster.

As you merge mercenaries, you can check the Mercenary Combination list and use combination to unlock a Legendary Mercenary. I also like that when one of your mercenary goes down, they get back up after a short time. Oh, you can also move ahead through passages after clearing everything in an area.

I found the Red Room pretty helpful, as you get a variety of great rewards from there by defeating all the monsters. If there’s a Red Room, always go there before the Boss Room. Now, the Main Stages are fun, costing you 3 Torch to play, but you earn solid rewards that help you progress faster.

UnderGuild: Offense Gameplay Basics

Hero

Here, you can also select from a variety of Heroes and not just the free one, Brave Chick. These Heroes are also divided into different rarities, and they’re as follows:

  • Common: Brave Chick, Lazy Cat, Mischievous Tree, Fat Knight, and Glasses-Wearing Beetle Warrior.
  • Rare: Collector Crayfish, Platypus, Nun, Plague Doctor, Marshmallow Skeleton Warrior, and Zombie.
  • Legendary: Reincarnation Sorcerer, Mischievous Demon, Cactus, Light Bulb Robot, Brave Green Slime, Joker, Lone Samurai, Necromancer, Ninja, and Barrel Warrior Dwarf.

Modes

The modes are divided into Common, where you can clear the Main Stages, and Ranking, Strategy, and Special. As you clear Main Stages, you can unlock more game modes like Infinite Sewer, Obsessive Giant Slime, Pigeon Cleanup, Strategy, and Decommissioned Sector.

Mercenary

The game includes a variety of Mercenaries divided into three tiers: Common, Legendary, and Mythic. As you level up, you can unlock them during your run and also equip 6 common Mercenary for each run. Each one brings different skills and strengths so, and evolve them to unlock better ones.

The Mythic ones like Martial Frog, Beetle Warrior, and more are very powerful with high Attack Power and HP. And, to unlock them, you need a Mercenary combination of two Legendary and one Common Mercenary, which can be tough but not impossible to obtain.

Sewer

In the Sewer, you can draw for Sewers and Creatures. Now, the base level of the sewers and creatures is based on your current account level, but you can independently upgrade both via enhancements. Moreover, grade-specific unique abilities are divided into: Low, Mid, High, and Top tiers.

You get the first Draw for free, and can watch Ads for one more free Draw to unlock various sewers and creatures like Baby Ghost Slime, Muddy Sewer, and more.

Growth

As your Account level increases, you also earn Ability points, which can be then used for growth of a variety of abilities in the Growth section. You can choose to use your ability points to increase HP of Legendary mercenaries by +10% or Hero’s Max HP by +10%, and so on.

Inventory

In the Inventory section, you can equip your Hero with Helment, Armor, Main Weapon, Sub Item, Shoes, and Others.

Shop

The in-game Shop is divided into two segments: Box and Others. You can draw for the Item Box, with 99 Draws granting you a Rare Item and 29 draws grating an Uncommon Item. You can also draw in the Hero & Mercenary Bundle, offering a Legendary mercenary for 22 draws. Both the box and bundle also level up per 10 draws.

Now, in the others section, you can purchase the Remove Ads, Starter Pack, Torch, and Diamonds. The good news is that you can watch Ads to obtain 10 Torch pcs and 40 Diamond pcs for free.

UnderGuild: Offense Beginners Guide: Tips and Tricks

1. Keep moving and position well to counter enemies

Movement plays an important role here, especially during higher enemy waves level. While, you don’t have to constantly reposition yourself or your team of mercenaries, but knowing the right placement and where to relocate to deal more damage is important. As monster waves increases, you need to dodge them to not get damaged.

2. Make sure to prioritize Mercenary Combinations

I would suggest you to always check your Mercenary Combinations and planning out ahead instead of randomly picking the mercenaries. I mean the Legendary and Mythic Mercenaries are really on a different level, and if you want to smoothly clear the waves, you need to have them in your team.

3. Never skip the Red Room

If you find a Red Room before the main Boss fight, make sure to never miss it out. It is important if you want to beat the Boss easily, as by clearing the Red Room, you earn more valuable rewards which will help you get better mercenaries and enhance your team power.

4. Try to experiment with different heroes and mercenary combinations

While Brave Chick hero is very adorable, you don’t have to just stick with her. Here, each hero has unique skills and strengths, and should take proper advantage of it. By testing these heroes with different mercenary combinations, you’ll have a clearer idea on how to approach each Main stage level.

5. Take full advantage of Ads

While Ads can be bothersome, you should take the most advantage of them in games like this. So, I would suggest you to daily watch 3 ads in the Shop to collect a variety of Torch and Diamond pcs, and this is really worth it in the long run.

Final Thoughts

Honestly, at first UnderGuild: Offense looked very simple, but it quickly grew into me, especially since I used to play Archero 2 a lot. While not quite the same, I had fun with this one too, not those MOBA or action games kind of fun, but more of a relaxing kind.

With your team of powerful heroes and diverse mercenaries, you can take on massive boss monsterswith unique attack pattern but it can soon get challenging as you progress more and more. Which is why I suggest you follow this beginners guide to have a pleasant experience.
