Urban Heat is a multiplayer first-person shooter title from OneUp Games. The game is now available for early access in select regions. It is set in a gang-controlled urban environment, players engage in 3v3 and 5v5 PvP deathmatch battles across various locales. To excel in this game, you will need the perfect character to balance your team. To ease things up, in this Urban Heat Character Tier List, we are going to discuss the best characters. As you start the game, this guide will help you make the right decision.
Introducing the in-game character archetype system
Just like clans and leagues, this game has a feature called ‘gangs‘. You can choose from three gangs, each with its style, aesthetic, and thirty unique characters. The names of the gangs are: El Coco, Carbons, and Golden Coppers. Each gang offers several playable in-game characters. The available characters are divided into three archetypes. The archetype indicates the basic stats of the character. These are:
- Light: The Light characters are very agile and swift, but they lack health points. These characters are great for flanking and fast-paced gameplays. Beware as their HP depletes very fast.
- Medium: As the name suggests, these characters are the most balanced in Urban Heat. They offer both health and speed advantages. Their attributes are suitable for mid-range combats.
- Heavy: To execute every fast and strategic play, you will need a tank character to protect your damage dealers from enemy attacks. The Heavy characters are the perfect choice for this role. Their massive health points compensate for the lack of speed in their gameplay. These slow and resilient archetypes are suitable for your team’s frontline.

Now, the characters in Urban Heat are divided into four different groups. The groups are SS, S, A, and B. A character is considered powerful based on the abilities and perks it has and also the effectiveness in each battle.
Urban Heat Character Tier List
After playing the game thoroughly and spending much time in-game researching the characters, I came up with the exclusive tier list mentioned below. One thing should be noted currently, we do not have the complete character roster as it often changes with updates. Since the game is in the open beta phase, so sometimes new characters are added, and sometimes older ones are adjusted or removed for balance changes. Now, take a look at the list given below:
Tier | Assault | Support | Tank |
---|---|---|---|
Ultimate (SS) | The Razor | – | Gunzilla |
Strong (S) | Handyman, War Dog | Chispa | Flash ‘n Cash |
Good (A) | Kool Kid, Aly No Quits | El Comodin, Hageshi | Meatball |
Average (B) | – | Glock-n-Doll | – |
Best Meta Characters in Urban Heat
In games like Urban Heat, selecting the right character plays a crucial role in terms of winning rounds. If you and your teammates take the same type of characters, then there is a high possibility that your team will struggle in front of properly synergized teams. Use this Urban Heat Character Tier List to select the best character for you.
We will always recommend you take the best available option for your designated role. But always try to diversify your game. Because only it will make your team invincible. However, it is not possible to play all the characters from the very beginning of the game. You will have to make progress in your gang to unlock the characters. You can do it by playing the game. Now we will shed some light on the best characters from each class.
1. Yuji ‘Razor’ Sato
Razor is a Medium archetype character who possesses a lot of skill on the battlefield. His skills enable him to use the Sniper Rifles with Ease. His crack shot ability also gives him an upper hand in close range as he can quickly switch his primary weapon to a handgun.

Thanks to his archetype, he is also decently agile, which is matched with his Run and Gun skill. These combined skill sets will get him a spot in any team.
2. Isabela ‘Chispa’ Torres
Chispa is the perfect choice for your team’s all-around performer. Her expertise in controlling Sub Machine Gun (SMG) goes very well with her Light archetype. This combination is enough to wreak havoc on the opponent team.

While your main attacker fights with the frontline of the opponent, Chispa can easily sneak in and take out the glass cannons of them. Do not forget to pair her with a solid tank-type character Meatball or Gunzilla to bring the best out of her.
3. Gunnar ‘Gunzilla’ Anderson
The Gunzilla is the ideal tank character to protect your attackers from enemy firings. He can even play as an initiator and get some early finishes thanks to his brilliant loadout. It consists of a Light Machine Gun (LMG) and a Shotgun.

This heavy-hitting ability makes him a very tough character to deal with. His ultimate skill, which is the Tactical Shield also allows him to create a stationary shield that blocks enemy fire and allows shooting through the shield for allies.
