Akatsuki Games Inc. has announced that its highly anticipated turn-based battle RPG, KAIJU NO. 8 THE GAME, is set to launch on both Android and iOS on August 31. Based on the popular anime, the game was first announced in June 2024 for mobile and PC, and is now open for pre-registration.

KAIJU NO. 8 THE GAME is a turn-based RPG based on the popular Shonen Jump+ series. You can form squads of four characters to engage in battles, while experiencing the story all over again, along with original new narratives, and also discover more about your favorite characters.
If you’re not too familiar with Kaiju No. 8, it’s a Japanese manga by Naoya Matsumoto that was later serialized online on Shōnen Jump+. It follows Kafka Hibino, an ordinary guy who ended up turning into a Kaiju, the very thing he swore his childhood friend to hunt as a kid.
Thanks to the collaboration with Matsumoto, you can enjoy an original Main Story branching from the manga and anime, while Memories lets you revisit classic moments, and you can also explore relationships and interactions between team members via Character Stories.
Utilise the skills of your favorite Defense Force officers to defeat the Kaijus
I really loved season 1 of the anime, and now with season 2 dropping this July, I am even more hyped. Honestly, it feels like the perfect time for the game to launch, too. Coming to gameplay, you can enjoy a tactical, turn-based battle system, picking your Defence Force’s officers’ skills to attack the cores of Kaijus.
The game looks very promising, with stunning graphics, cool skills and ultimates, exclusive original narratives, a crafting system, an all-star voice actor cast, and more. I am so excited to see Reno Ichikawa with his Identified Kaiju Weapon (Numbers Weapon) 6 outfit in action, now available in-game after being introduced in the recent Episode 19.
KAIJU NO. 8 THE GAME is set to launch on both Android and iOS on August 31. You can now pre-register for the game via your respective Google Play Store or App Store. Apart from the milestone rewards, you’ll also receive 1,000 Dimensional Crystals.
