- You can unlock Shade by collecting Shade feathers through limited-time events and modes or in-game purchase.
- Her Spinning Slash ability lets her phase through structures and defenses.
Rovio Entertainment Oy has introduced a special new member to the flock in Angry Birds 2, and this newcomer Shade, is also the first bird to join the roster since 2022. She is now available through a limited-time event which is live until May 7. So, without further ado, let’s dive into details!
Shades arrives with new never seen before gameplay mechanics in the series
So to give you some context on Shade, the bird was previously known as Dahlia, a curious tinkerer who experimented with a ritual from Gale’s Ancient Book. And due to this experiment she transformed into a spectral, ghostlike bird. That said, I can’t believe it’s been so long since the game added a new bird.
And Shade doesn’t just look different, as she also introduces new mechanics to the beloved series. So, Shade can slip through without being blocked once she’s launched from the slingshot. Her special Spinning Slash ability, lets her slice through tower materials and piggy defenses while phasing through them.
That said, if you’ve already cleared Saga Level 23, you can unlock Shade by collecting special Shade feathers during special in-game events and modes, though you can also opt to obtain her through an in-game purchase. I suggest you unlock her as you get to keep her permanently even after the event ends, and it’s the latest one since 2022 so don’t miss.
