In the present market condition, all the companies are trying hard to capture the gaming market. In the gaming segment, subscription services are becoming a way to generate profit for companies. Following the trend, Apple has also come up with Apple Arcade.
The Apple Arcade subscription service for games is only the most recent indication of Apple jumping on the gaming fleeting trend – with a curated rundown of select titles all set to go to your iPhones, iPads and Macbook PCs.
With the launch of the iPhone11, Apple today announced that Apple Arcade will be available on the App Store from Thursday, September 19 with iOS 13. It will also offer an all-new way to enjoy games without limits. Apple Arcade will be available for $4.99 per month and users will get unlimited access to the entire catalogue of over 100 new, exclusive games, all playable across iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac and Apple TV. The best part of this launch was a one-month free trial period for subscription-based service.
How many family members can share?
Apple Arcade games can all be played offline, and a single subscription includes access for up to six family members with Family Sharing.
Will Apple Arcade be a success?
At first, it sounds great that Apple comes up with this kind of subscription-based service. But thinking about a gamer, we know that people already have their own console or gaming PC. Those people are already paying for one or the other subscription service.
In the present time, the market is flooded with video game subscription services like Xbox Game Pass, Discord Nitro, etc. The latest entry is made by Google Play Pass, which will also start its service very soon. Practically, a normal video gamer can only afford one or two of them.
So at this point, we can’t comment much on whether it can be successful or not but we will follow the future course of action taken by these companies.
