- Tangtang is the newest 6-Star Operator arriving with the Version 1.1 update of Arknights: Endfield.
- Many called the song cringy and bad, while others blamed the controversial singer.
- Community discussions grow as fans question whether the song fits the IP's usual music standards.
Arknights: Endfield has found itself under another controversy after the recently released Tangtang EP quietly disappeared from all official platforms. And, this situation quickly came into the notice of both the Chinese community and global fans with discussions happening across forums and social media.
Tangtang is a 6-Star Caster that excels at dealing AOE Cryo damage and supporting teammates and she is part of the Version 1.1 Update, coming along with Rossi, the 6-Star Guard. Meanwhile, you can also check our Twitch Drops Event guide to avail a variety of free rewards until April 7, 2026.
The community feel the track doesn’t match Arknights music standards
So, right after the security concerns tied to pull tracker websites, Arknights: Endfield is in talks again about the sudden removal of the new Tangtang EP, though the devs have not issued any explanations yet. Now, many fans believe are discussing about it, trying to piece together what led to its removal.
Now, from what the Chinese community is saying as shared by the redditor, prurite, the backlash seems to come from a mixture of the music quality and controversy around the singer. And I get them, as the Arknights franchise is known for its solid music, so something like this ruins that image and reputation.
Controversy around the singer sparks further backlash
So, a major talking point is the perceived drop in quality compared to previous Arknights EPs, and many fans felt this EP didn’t match their expectations. And another factor was the choice of the vocalist, 凶狠凯蒂,” who fans term as a TikTok ragebaiting influencer, and many believes her past online content and music style doesn’t suit TangTang’s character image.
While I believe we should separate the art from the artist, in this case, the response from the singer added more to the fuel. Following the criticism, she restricted comments on her BiliBili account, deleted many comments, and even argued with commentators after posting an unrelated video.
That said, fans are now bashing Hyperglyph more than the singer and I too believe it’s more about the casting decision as given their resources, they could have created a better song. One fan rightly said, “it doesn’t fit the level of quality people expect from AK franchise music,” with another sharing, “the song just sounds like shit for a Chinese song.“
