NCSOFT has announced the shutdown of its collectible action MMORPG, Blade & Soul Heroes, set for February 19, 2026, in South Korea. This title originally launched in the region as Hoyeon in August 2024, before going global this September, but it’s now sunsetting after over a year of service.
Devs didn’t reveal the exact cause behind the termination
For those unaware, Blade & Soul Heroes is a collectible action MMORPG that takes place 3 years before the events of the original series. Here, you can dive into a vibrant anime-style world, collect 40+ heroes, and help Yusol on her quest to rebuild her clan, while beating enemies and the main villain, Yi Chun.
Unfortunately, Hoyeon’s Team announced via their official website that the game would terminate its service on February 19, 2026, in South Korea, stating, “I sincerely hope that even after your journey ends, the memories of Hoyeon will remain warm in your heart.” They didn’t reveal the exact reason.
You can download and play the game until the EOS date
Following the announcement, the game has disabled all in-app purchases.  However, you can still download the game from the Google Play Store and App Store and enjoy the final moments until the EOS date. The Discord server will close on December 26, followed by the website’s closure next April.
The good part is that the team is offering refunds for all paid products, and you have until March 21, 2026, to apply, though you need receipts with the order number. That said, while it’s sad to see it ending so soon, you still have the option to play the global and Japanese versions whenever you feel like.
