Boom Beach Frontlines to add alliance feature and release in more countries in Q2 2022

The developers plan to bring new features based on the data from the first beta

Boom Beach Frontlines, the 9v9 shooter developed by Space Ape Games based in the Boom Beach universe which is currently in soft launch announced their future plans for the game (which includes an alliance feature), expected date of more regions to come, and more. In this article, we look at all the announcements made by the developers.

Longer update cycle and building core mechanics

With over 5 months of soft launch and more than a year of first public beta, the developers have gathered a lot of data and feedback from the player base and using the data, the plan is to bring new exciting features and make the experience of the existing features even more polished.

To deliver on this the team will be shifting their focus from the live build of the game to the development of concepts and mechanics that players will see in the coming future. Due to this reason, the update cycle will take longer. For some time Space Ape Games has decided to halt the release of new HQ Levels and cards with Season passes. Gamers need not worry, as balance changes and bug fixes will be part of their regular schedule.

New map mechanics and changes to progress system

Boom Beach Frontlines will also see more content in the form of new maps and the introduction of effects that will twist the game. There are a lot of effects that the dev team is working on and some of the effects showcased are tornadoes and falling snowballs both of which do damage to the troops and affect their movement.

These effects are currently under development and are subject to change before they are added to the game. New map mechanics are one of the twists that are coming to the game meaning players can expect more dynamic interacting items during the battle.

Additionally bringing changes to the meta-system (progress mechanics) of the game is another area of adjustment. In the January 2022 patch, Space Ape made several changes to the Season and Star Pool and they are working on improving it further. The team is also working on new ways to obtain cards so that players can have access to more cards and also make it easier to level up.

Boom Beach Frontlines: Alliance feature and new game modes

Alliances which is a way to play games with friends and interact with them before and during battle will be released in a new avatar. Alliances are analogous to the clans and clubs from popular Supercell games like Clash of Clans and Brawl Stars. The social feature will allow players to play together and synergize for better strategic advantage, it is expected that alliances will also bring with it a Clan War feature pitting various Alliances in a battle for more rewards and content.

New game modes are also currently being tested internally and are slated to release sometime around Q2 2022 with alliances and other mechanics if everything goes as planned. Details regarding the new game modes are available other than a 5-second clip based on which one of the game modes is a tower defense type thing.

More regions to come

As announced in December 2021 update, Boom beach will reveal new regions being added to the game sometime in Q2 2022 bringing with it all the aforementioned improvements and new content. Players who are eager to play the game can fill out the early access form, from which a bunch of players is picked to join the game.
