Bravely Default: Brilliant Lights a Square Enix development is reportedly set to shut down its services on February 28, 2023. The game was announced and launched in July 2021 as a mobile entry in the Bravely Default series exclusively in Japan. The reason behind this abrupt ending of services is still not disclosed by the developers.

This move of ending the services by the developers came as a shock to many because the game was doing fairly well and in February of 2022 reached a total of 4 million registered users, however, the developers made their intentions crystal clear with a message posted via official Twitter handle of the game of the regarding the end of services forever after February 28, 2023.
Square Enix did extend an apology for this immediate notice but still did not explain the reason behind it. Maybe in the future, they might roll in with more information about this unexpected move.
The game was released to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the series Bravely Default and also had appearances from characters in the previous titles in the series such as Agnes Oblige, Edea Lee, and Ringabel. However, now Square Enix is reportedly set to end the services in effect from February 28, 2023
The game even after the discontinuation will allow the players to view their profiles and other personal information. Players would also be able to view the enemy database, and even revisit parts of the main scenario once the game has gone offline. The devs have also stated that the release of the offline version of the game will be announced at a later date on the game’s official website.
