- Brawl Stars removes Bling purchases from Catalog and is introducing a new Shop system.
- New Bling bundles offer skins, cosmetics, Starr Drops, and even progression rewards.
Brawl Stars is bringing a revamped cosmetic system to improve how cosmetics and Bling work in-game. The devs have also acknowledged how the current system has certain issues, especially how skins are valued and how Bling is used. So, with the next update, we’re getting a revamped cosmetic system starting with Bling, the Catalog, and the Shop in Brawl Stars. Now, let’s dive into more details!
Brawl Stars aims to make cosmetics and Bling more meaningful with the upcoming changes
The Brawl Stars devs have revealed on their blog how Bling was originally introduced to “make cosmetics accessible to every player.” But things didn’t go as planned, and instead, it might “have devalued cosmetics in the game as a whole.”
Plus, many players ended up stacking Bling without spending it, as the skins became less exciting. And another issue that I also agree with is that Bling sometimes feels like a weak reward. Veteran players like me already own a lot of the skins, so new ones don’t always feel as special as they used to.
Brawl Stars revamps Shop with Bling bundles and rotating Catalog skins
So, one of the biggest changes is the removal of Bling purchases from the Catalog. Instead of that, you’ll get to use your saved Bling in a new dedicated section inside the Shop. But don’t worry, as all the skins will still exist, and it just that they’ll rotate instead of being available all the time in the Catalog.

Moreover, the new Shop section will introduce Bling bundles containing Skins, Pins, Profile icons, Sprays, and even boxes and Starr Drops. And here’s what makes them more interesting:
- A Tap to Reveal system that provides a few Bling for tapping.
- Discounts ranging from 0 to 100%.
- A chance to obtain Mythic and Legendary Skins.
- You can pick certain rarity skins from a larger pool in some bundles.
I like this big shift, as Bling will also help us in progression, and not just cosmetics. I also can’t wait for the next Brawl Talk to check out the overall shop revamp.
F2P reward sources adjustments
Besides them, the update is coming as a blessing to F2P players thanks to the following changes:
- You’ll get a new Bling Mega Quest every season.
- There will be more Bling in the free Brawl Pass track.
- Though there will be lower chances of getting skins from Starr Drops, Chaos Drops, and Brawler Boxes.
But there’s nothing much to worrying regarding the third point. As you still earn a similar number of skins overall, but obviously with more control over which ones you collect, thanks to the Bling bundles. And I suggest you not to waste your Bling right now, unless you have a specific skin in mind that you really want.
And if you want to stock up Bling before the update, follow the given steps:

- Try to play Ranked and collect Pro Pass rewards.
- Complete your daily 6 wins.
- Use your unused Resource Key for Bling.
- And take part in the ongoing events.
