Smilegate has released the Chapter 2 update of its first season, Forbidden Catalyst, for its new roguelike RPG, Chaos Zero Nightmare. This update brings a new Combatant, Partner, the competitive Great Rift ranking mode, a variety of system improvements, events, and more.
Chaos Zero Nightmare Forbidden Catalyst Chapter 2 Update
So, Chapter 2 picks up with the squad chasing down Kaguya Pharmaceutical to take back the stolen Primonium, which quickly turns into a high-stakes chase with Yuki. And, with this update, you can enjoy the Great Rift, a new ranking mode where you compete to deal the most serious damage to the boss.
Plus, you’ll also earn in-game currency and limited-edition decorations based on how well you place and top records. Not only that, but the Galactic Disaster exclusive reward shop now stocks Omega Code, a key material needed for unlocking Ego Manifestation for all of your Combatants.
Introducing Chizuru and Itsuku, the new Combatant and Partner
The game brings the key characters of the Forbidden Catalyst story, Chizuru and Itsuku, as a new Combatant and Partner, respectively.
Chizuru, a 5-star Void attribute Psionic Combatant, uses her exclusive skill Cursed Shackle when fighting. With this, she obtains powerful upgrade cards, like the Bound at Dusk one, which reduces card-use costs, lowering the stress of resource management. Itsuku joins Chizuru as her Psionic partner, who is also an exile from the fiercely competitive Peltion society.
List of Events coming with the Forbidden Catalyst Chapter 2 Update
And, along with the update, also come various events for you to participate in and enjoy.
- See you at the Unigram Event: In this event, you can unlock a special Bond Story by clearing all the missions and increasing Rei’s Affinity.
- Chasing the Star’s Trajectory Event: This is basically a check-in event with a variety of solid rewards like Tear of God, and more, which you can obtain just by logging in-game.
- Virtual Tactical Simulation Event: Thanks to this event, you can try out the new Combatant Chizuru by playing the trial stages, and even earn rewards like Crystals and more.
Content Updates and Game Improvements
This update also brings a variety of content updates and system improvements, which are as follows:
- The Favorite Gift system is being introduced along with 15 new gifts.
- Unigram, a new messenger-style system, is being added in-game to improve bonds with your owned Combatants. Plus, special events may also happen based on affinity levels.
- You can also explore the new permanent shop, the Blackhorn Trade. Here you can spend your Crystal of Discord to buy progression items.
- One of the best upgrades is the reduction of in-game currency required to level up Combatants and Partners, which was reduced by 80%.
