In a piece of recent news spreading out, many players from a few countries have been reporting that they are unable to login to their Clash of Clans accounts, which most likely indicates that they have been blocked. These countries are on the list of regions where Account Protection is not available since Supercell has ceased operations.
Many Clash of Clans players reports receiving an error page during login
Even though there wasn’t an official announcement of any sort, players since Monday have been notifying the Reddit r/ClashOfClans community about their difficulties of not being able to login to their game accounts. The matter escalated when many other players started getting the same error on their accounts as well.
However, this only affected a small percentage of players worldwide, and many did not receive this message and were able to continue playing freely. This sparked a discussion about how this could be a problem for players in different regions, and it turned out to be correct.
Players from a few countries are facing these issues currently, which are confirmed as follows:
- Belarus (BY)
- Russia (RU)
- Iran (IR)
- Cuba (CU)
- North Korea (KP)
All the players from these regions are not able to log in, and they are taking the help of a VPN to gain access. Do note, all these countries come under the list of countries that do not have the Account Protection option by Supercell.
Notably, players from Vietnam and China have also reportedly faced these issues, but players from these regions are able to log in and play. One user from Syria has also reported this error, but nothing is confirmed yet.
The reasons stated so far are due to sanctions and legal obligations, although nothing concrete has come out so far. While is it old news that Supercell had taken its apps out from the Russian and Belarusian Google Play Store and App Store, players from those regions were able to play. We shall have to wait and see what will happen next.
