Clash Royale March 2023 update: Events 2.0, Season Tokens, and more

What is coming this March?

Supercell has confirmed that Clash Royale will be getting a month-end update this March 2023 at an undisclosed date, and will be following a few interesting changes. The update has set its focus on the Events 2.0 revamp, and also brings back the Party Mode with the Season Tokens and Shop on the way to make the rewarding system even better.

Clash Royale March 2023 update overview

The makers have a few things in store for the fans and players with the upcoming update and it looks like it will hugely improve many current aspects of the game.

Season Tokens and Season Shop

Recently, in their 2023 Roadmap, Clash Royale announced that a new plan is in the making to have a currency system that can be earned by playing the Challenges. These will be on a seasonal basis, and during a particular period can be used to cash in for the rewards available in the Season Shop. With this March update, this will come fruit.

Each Event earns you Season Tokens, which you can then spend in the Season Shop. Whether be it Gold, Magic Items (including Books), Wild Cards, Battle Banners, Emotes, or other rewards, it will be available in the Season Shop for you to spend your Season Tokens on. Players can accumulate Season Tokens by playing events and via the Pass Royale.

By participating in Events, players can earn up to 1000 Season Tokens per day. With a Season Boost, this Daily Cap can be increased to a maximum of 7000 Tokens per day. Also, the new system will favor both winners and losers in a match. For every Crown Tower destroyed and defended, players will earn those tokens, along with their expenditure of Elixir.

The Events 2.0 update

The new update will slightly revamp the Events category, with a new set of events coming on the way. It was confirmed that the popular game modes will be featured more often as per the community’s liking, and the path is looking likely the same way.

Clash Royale has also confirmed that the Card Levels and Tower Power are now capped at Level 11 while playing any Events, which is also a good option to balance the playing field.

More Special Challenges

Players enjoyed the special challenges, and one of the most requested changes was with the Special Challenges. So, in this change, there is no match limit. So, say goodbye to scenarios like losing three times and being unable to play the newest game mode, or completing a Challenge and being unable to play any further. So, no more paying Gems to continue playing, which is a huge bonus for competitive players.

The return of the Party Mode

Missed the party mode? Well, it is back now! After the March 2023 update, players can locate the Party Mode in the Events Tab, where they can participate in a variety of 1v1 and 2v2 game modes that are rotated on a regular basis.

Final Thoughts

The Pass Royale revamp hasn’t been included in the current update, so we will have to wait for the change a bit more. However, as promised, they are delivering the Event menu changes and the new rewarding system which is a nice inclusion and a benefit for everyone involved. Overall, the updated plan looks pretty good in what we can call a three-crown in Clash Royale terminologies. Soon, we will get to see how well the changes reflect.
