- Clash Royale’s new update might ban players for using emotes "toxically,".
- Players are questioning what counts as a "toxic" emote.
I’m having a good chuckle while writing this because no matter how I look at it, I just can’t wrap my head around it. Yes, you read the title right: Clash Royale might slap a ban on your account if you use emotes in a “toxic way“, because they are only for “encouragement“.
I believe you might already know the March 2025 update, which is hitting on the 31st of this month and is bringing a few new additions, with a whole lot of removals. Amongst these new updates, something has triggered a whole new debate, which is the use of emotes.
The Clash Royale emotes ban announcement has led to funny reactions
If you ask me, Clash Royale doesn’t even have toxic emotes. Like, what are we talking about here? The crying King? The laughing Goblin? The thumbs-up? If spamming these is considered “harmful,” then what’s next? Getting banned for spamming thanks after a failed Rocket cycle? This is laughable.
At this point, they might as well just remove the mute button entirely because clearly, “some players aren’t using it,” just like how they mentioned players weren’t using the Season Shop (still don’t believe it is true), yet it didn’t stop them from removing that, didn’t they?
The announcement has sparked straight-up comedic reactions in the community, you can notice it under the official X post too. Well, most of them are leaning towards this being an April Fool’s joke; many are curious how on earth emojis in Clash Royale will help in providing “encouragement.”
I won’t be surprised if this announcement was real as it gets, and then because of the trolling, they might turn it into an April Fools thingy. Because, let’s be honest, banning people for using in-game features exactly as intended feels a little ridiculous.
