- Card Evolution has been one of the important gameplays in Clash Royale.
- With several new evolutions, few of the cards stand out comparatively.
Ever since Clash Royale brought in the Card Evolution feature, there’s no denying that collecting and unlocking Evolution Shards has been common for a long time. Again, Clash Royale’s card evolutions keep changing the game, and some upgrades are just way better than others.
With each update, certain evolutions become must-haves, while others don’t feel as strong anymore. If you’re wondering which ones are the best this month, here’s a breakdown of the strongest card evolutions in Clash Royale, ranking them on how well they fare as of Season 82 live in April 2026.
Clash Royale Card Evolution Tier List for Season 82
With each season, Clash Royale’s evolving cards shake up the meta, making some evolutions incredibly strong while others struggle to keep up. If you’re wondering which evolved cards are dominating Season 71, this tier list will help you decide which ones to focus on.

Before that, let me explain my ratings for my tiers.
- SS Tier: These evolutions are the best in the game. Consider these cards to be upgraded first.
- S Tier: Strong evolutions that perform well but may not be as game-changing as SS-tier ones.
- A Tier: Decent evolutions that can be useful in certain scenarios, but aren’t as consistent.
- B Tier: These evolutions are situational and only shine in specific decks or strategies.
- C Tier: Weak evolutions that struggle to make an impact and are generally not worth investing in.
| Tier | Common | Rare | Epic | Legendary |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Overpowered (SS) | Cannon Knight | NA | Electro Dragon Witch | Lumberjack Royal Ghost |
| Strong (S) | Ice Spirit Royal Recruits Royal Giant Firecracker Skeleton Barrel | Musketeer Valkyrie Furnace Royal Hogs | Executioner Goblin Giant Goblin Barrel Skeleton Army Baby Dragon | Mega Knight Inferno Dragon |
| Good (A) | Archers Bomber Skeletons Barbarians Bats Minion Horde | Dart Goblin Goblin Cage Wall Breakers | Hunter PEKKA | NA |
| Fair (B) | Giant Snowball Zap Tesla Mortar | Battle Ram Wizard | Goblin Drill | NA |
| Weak (C) | NA | NA | NA | NA |
Keep in mind that different strategies can change how effective a card feels, so use this as a general reference rather than a strict ranking.
Best Meta Card Evolutions in Clash Royale for Season 82
The most recent evolution was in Season 82, with Minion Horde stepping in after a long time, since Royal Hogs back in Season 77.

Minion Horde Evolution comes with Horde Immunity, which gives each Minion a brief window of invisibility and invincibility after taking its first hit. Normally, Horde gets deleted instantly by spells, but now it can actually survive that initial counter and stay on the board longer than expected.
That said, it’s not a straight buff compared to something like the Royal Hogs Evolution, which focused on immediate pressure with its Flying Pigs landing damage; Minion Horde plays a slower game.
Meanwhile, some of the older Evolutions still hold their ground. Executioner Evolution continues to be one of the most consistent picks thanks to how easy it is to get value from his ability. On the higher end, cards like Witch and Lumberjack Evolutions remain in the top tier, even after balance changes.
Some evolutions got nerfs and hence, moved down the order. For example, you can say PEKKA was easily a top-tier EVO card. Don’t get me wrong, she’s still a powerhouse, but she’s a little easier to handle now, and that bumped her down a tier.

Then there’s Firecracker Evolution. She was a nightmare to deal with, and honestly, she still is. But the problem? Players have figured out too many counters for her. With all that, she still finds herself at the top of the list.
That’s all for this Season’s Clash Royale Card Evolution tier list! Do keep an eye on this page every season, as the list will be updated as new cards and balance changes arrive.
