Crash Bandicoot is one of the most anticipated mobile arcade games of 2020, and finally, the game is going to have a global release in the future under the name Crash Bandicoot: On the Run. Currently, the game is up for pre-registration on Android, with iOS pre-registration scheduled to start soon. Previously, there was a leaked version of it on mobile some weeks ago, it seems that was the appropriate time the developers planned its release. From a recent twitter post, the game’s official handle teased the release of the game arriving on mobile. It appears the release is now going to be official soon. The game is coming from the home of King, publishers of the extremely popular Candy Crush franchise.
Early 2020 leaked release of Crash Bandicoot on mobile
The leaked version of Crash Bandicoot Mobile game surfaced on Facebook in early 2020 through an advert mishap. The game then soft-launched in few selected countries only. However, with the latest tweet from official game handle teases that the game release might not be very far.
The game’s official Twitter handle named Crash Bandicoot: On the Run was created in May. However, it was noticed immediately after they posted the teaser footage of the game recently.
So far the official handle is following two other crash Bandicoot related accounts on Twitter as well. The two accounts are the official Crash Bandicoot Twitter handle and King, the genius mobile developers behind Candy Crush. Considering how the release of the trailer was timed, the game could be getting a worldwide release on mobile pretty soon.
How will the Gameplay be like?
The game is an endless arcade runner game where you assume the role of a crash, run through the forest through several hurdles and try to evade as much booby traps and other enemies as you can. While doing so, you get to eat some fruits looking like apples on your run.
From the gameplay teaser we saw, the game takes a similar approach with the likes of Subway Surfers and the Jumanji: Run mobile game.
When will Crash Bandicoot mobile release?
Currently, the game is up for pre-registration on Android. King has confirmed that iOS users will also be able to pre-register from the App Store soon. Previously, the game was available to play in a limited number of countries. The leaked release happened in February this year, and an updated version of the game was released in April.
The game is going to be free to play, and our guess is that it could become available worldwide in a few months time on both Android & iOS. Till then, pre-register for the app and get a Free Blue Hyena skin at launch!
