NetEase Games is now kicking off a packed season for their RPG shooter, Destiny: Rising, with The Dawning update, and has revealed a content roadmap for Q1 2026. The update brings festive rewards, new content, seasonal events, and more, while the roadmap is planned from now to April 2026.
Take part in winter-themed snowball activities and celebrate the festive month
The Dawning event period introduces limited-time winter-themed activities like Snowball Showdown and Speedway Skirmish, letting you trade gunfire for snowball battles. Moreover, you can unlock exclusive cosmetics, including Umeko’s new skin, a Ghost Shell, and Sparrow.
Additionally, on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve, you can join the bonfire celebrations and enjoy fireworks and events hosted by the Wolf Pack. I’m also eager to try mini-games like Go Ghost Go!, Soccer, Shadowshaper Duel, and Fishing, as they also offer a variety of extra rewards.
Besides that, you can also take part in the Snowball Fight web event, which is live until January 1, 2026, where you can earn rewards and entries to special prize draws just by completing the tasks.
The 2026 Content Roadmap reveals major content, endgame prep, game modes, and more until April 2026
Apart from the update, the game is also preparing for a major update for early January 2026, introducing the Pinnacle Energy system, a new destination, and the continuation of the main campaign, along with plans for new activities and a Tower-Defense mode for Season 3. I like how they’re trying to experiment.
From now on, the game will be getting two major version updates annually. That said, seasonal updates will continue to play a big role, with Season 2 expanding Shifting Gates and adding three new Gauntlet Blitz stages and new weapons. And I’m sure fans will love this return of a familiar The Dawning event.
Between these major updates, the team is also working to roll out fun PvP events, future endgame content expansion, and offer monthly event calendars on their social media. I’m excited for Season 3, as it will bring the beloved 6-player challenge and Season 4 for the major system update.
