Bandai Namco Entertainment Inc. is celebrating the 10th Anniversary of their beloved action puzzle title, DRAGON BALL Z DOKKAN BATTLE, with a special campaign split into two parts. This Anniversary stands out from the rest, as it introduces six featured characters to make the celebration more exciting. Let’s jump into the Anniversary and explore the super fusions, new characters, skills, and more!
DRAGON BALL Z DOKKAN BATTLE 10th Anniversary Campaign Overview
DRAGON BALL Z DOKKAN BATTLE is set in the DRAGON BALL universe, featuring beautiful 2D illustrated visuals and animations. In this chaotic timeline, iconic characters from DBZ to DBS like Super Saiyan God SS Goku, Vegeta, Freeza, Jiren, and more clash in epic anime-style battles.
Since its release on 30 January 2015, the game has offered fan-favorite characters, their super attacks, exciting Dokan Events, World Tournament, and more throughout the last decade. Now celebrating its 10th Anniversary, it introduces six featured characters, an updated UI, a cleaner Dokkan mode, etc.
To mark this occasion, they teamed up with NBA basketball player De’Aaron Fox, who appears in a special commercial talking about the game’s appeal and celebrates the anniversary with a special message. The campaign is split into two parts, bringing even more excitement.
The 10th Anniversary Campaign introduces Super Vegito and Super Gogeta
The 10th Anniversary campaign is split into two parts. Part 1 features Super Saiyan Goku + Super Saiyan Vegeta (Angel), who can fuse into Super Vegito.
In Part 2, Super Saiyan Vegeta (Angel) + Super Saiyan Goku (Angel) are introduced, who can fuse into Super Gogeta.
Currently, Super Saiyan 3 Goku (GT) (Golden Giant Ape) and Super Saiyan God SS Evolved Vegeta from Part 1 are still available in the game. And for Part 2, Super Saiyan 2 Gohan (Youth) and Frieza (Final Form) (Angel) + Goku have joined the roster.
The Dokkan Festival x Top Legendary Summon Carnival is live, offering various summons, along with ongoing special missions, festivals, and other campaigns to celebrate the anniversary.
Introducing the new skill, Reversible Exchange
Along with Super Vegito and Super Gogeta, this anniversary has also introduced a new skill known as Reversible Exchange. This new skill allows you to choose one of the two characters that would best fit the battle conditions, and once the activation conditions are met, you can change characters anytime during battle.
Reversible Exchange is currently available to Super Saiyan Goku + Super Saiyan Vegeta (Angel), Super Saiyan Vegeta (Angel) + Super Saiyan Goku (Angel), and Frieza (Final Form) (Angel) + Goku.
Additional gameplay improvements
For the 10th Anniversary, the team is rolling out several updates, including a refreshed battle screen. The devs stated, “The main focus on the update was to renew the overall UI,” aiming to make battles easier to follow while also improving the visual experience for a more immersive feel
They have been completely overhauled so that characters in the game fight the same way as the series, delivering a more dynamic animation style.
Moreover, unique battle motions for characters before the Ki Sphere acquisition were introduced at the start of the 10th Anniversary.
Although some past campaigns, like the Worldwide Celebration Campaign, didn’t fully satisfy the dedicated fans, this Anniversary campaign is being well received.
