Pac-Man is all set for a collaboration with Fortnite. The Pac-Man franchise is celebrating the 42nd anniversary of the original launch of the Pac-Man arcade game. The suspicion was first raised when the official Fortnite team congratulated the Pac-Man franchise on their official Twitter account. It didn’t take long for the suspicions to be confirmed, as the official Japanese Pac-Man website explicitly stated that the two will have a crossover in early June.
The Japanese site does not have an English counterpart but likely will soon, it simply states that the collaboration will start on June 2nd, 2022. The timing is going to be notable as the next season of Fortnite is expected around that point as well.
Players can expect Pac-Man themed cosmetics in Fornite during the collaboration
While in most of the collaborations and crossover in Fornite, the skins are involved in whatever franchise is being added to the popular free-to-play battle royale video game, it sounds as if Pac-Man himself won’t be released as a usable or buyable skin. The way the tweet was posted it seems as if images or logos of Pac-Man will be in Fortnite rather than skin.
The finer details about them are obscure given how Pac-Man is, loopers should not expect much beyond an Emoticon and backpack. Well, what exactly Fortnite plan is yet to get revealed, but given the impending launch of the collaboration it seems likely that we won’t have to wait long to find out what Epic Games has in store for us.
As far as details are known, June 2, 2022, is an odd date as Chapter 3 Season 3 will start the very next day. This could result in a clash of the crossover with the release of the new season or maybe this is a deliberate act done by the Epic games to attach the crossover with the new season or to use the crossover for the opening of the new season. Besides Pac-Man, it has been a busy month for Fortnite with major collaborations like Ob-Wan Kenobi and YouTuber Ali-A as cosmetic bundles.
