Following a successful 2024 edition, gamescom asia x Thailand Game Show 2025 kicked off with an energetic Day 1, setting the stage for four days of gaming excitement. From high-profile fireside chats to showcases of indie showcases, this opening day highlighted collaboration, creativity, and the region’s rapidly growing gaming industry.

Opening ceremony ignites the event

The event began with Dead Space and Call of Duty creator Glenn Schofield calling on industry leaders to rebuild the gaming world with bold ideas, creativity, and better leadership. Following his call to action, the business area officially began the four-day event.

Lars Janssen and Felix Falk of game – the German Games Industry Association, spoke about “strengthening Europe–Asia ties through shared innovation.” Additionally, the DEPA President’s Assistant Prof. Dr Nuttapon Nimmanphatcharin also shared Thailand’s thriving digital economy and ambition in creative tech.

Celebrating Thailand’s growing developer scene

TGA President Kittipong Prucksa-aroon closed the ceremony by celebrating the country’s expanding developer community and the benefits of the global partnerships. The message was quite clear to me, with Thailand ready to play a bigger role on the international gaming stage.
