Genshin Impact Anime is still alive and in development, HoYoverse confirms

The hope is alive!

Story Highlights
  • HoYoverse teamed up with Ufotable, the team behind Demon Slayer series, for this anime project.
  • Officials confirmed the anime is still in active development with no major issues in Genshin FES 2026.

HoYoverse’s Genshin Impact had previously announced a long-term anime project along with Ufotable back in September 2022. The good news is the anime’s development is progressing smoothly, and it hasn’t faced any delays or issues as confirmed by the officials.

The Anime didn’t face any issues and is coming in future

Like many fans, even I was curious about Genshin Impact’s anime after the stunning teaser was revealed in 2022. However, it quickly went silent, and fans didn’t get any information for years, which made us think the project might have faced certain issues, especially due to the new Demon Slayer movie.

Now, the short trailer had our expectations really high, especially with Ufotable, the popular Japanese animation studio known for Demon Slayer series, and more is behind it. And, the good news is that the anime didn’t face any issues, as we got to know from the Genshin FES 2026 event held in Shanghai, China.

So, a developer representative, Aquaria confirmed on a livestream shared on Bilibili that the anime is still in active development with solid progress. According to them, this upcoming anime is planned as a long-term project, and we can expect solid quality from it as both teams are great in their fields.

As a long-time Otaku and also a fan of the game, I’m really excited for this one, and I feel like them taking these much amount of time is alright, provided we get a solid anime series. I have trust in both Ufotable and HoYoverse, and I expect to see a lot of stuff in this adaptation, like many fans.
