A very trustworthy Genshin Impact leaker named Lumie has recently leaked a piece of very insightful information about the first Closed Beta Test (CBT) of Genshin Impact. They revealed an old map of Teyvat of all seven nations and more with developer’s notes. The old maps were overlaid by Lumie herself and the translations were provided by Genshin Intel.
The leaked map reveals unreleased regions upcoming in Genshin Impact
According to the leaker, the map shown have been assembled and made out around January of 2021, so it was put together long before Inazuma was released into the game. Another note-worthy thing to point out is that the developer’s notes are said to be made around 2019 as they are from the first Closed Beta Client. So the developers have written all of these out long before Genshin Impact was officially released to the public (September 2020).
Of course, there are some note-worthy differences that are eventually changed into the official game like Dragonspine being mapped around the General area of Sumeru, lots of changes on Inazuma’s map, and locations like ‘Onsen Fanservice’ not being included in the official game.
Despite the changes, we got an overall clue and possibly lore spoilers about how the unreleased regions would look like and be named after (Fontaine, Natlan, and Snezhnaya). From this map we can deduce:
- Fontaine would be located westwards to Liyue and Mondstadt, connecting to the river along Liyue. In just speculation alone, Fontain would be surrounded by riverways in general.
- Natlan will have a large volcano located southwards to the bottom of the map. An NPC named Arabalika, who is in Sumeru, may have involvement in Natlan seeing as how there is something on the map named ‘Arabalika’s Fight Club’ which is located around the volcano.
- Possibly we may be seeing more map expansions of Mondstadt judging by the map named in the north of mondstadt.
- Celestia location and some developer’s notes about Celestia fragments scattered around Teyvat.
However, all of these are of course pure speculation seeing as how many changes have been made since the closed beta test, so players are advised to be aware and take it in with a grain of salt.
