With the Genshin Impact 2.8 version online, the next update is supposed to be Sumeru. Hoyoverse recently released a new teaser for Sumeru update in Genshin Impact and the associated element with Sumeru is Dendro. And till now, no playable character has been released yet of the Dendro element. So, Sumeru and the Dendro element both are of great mystery to the players. And the Genshin Impact Sumeru Teaser 02 sheds light on both.
Sumeru is divided into Rainforests and Desert with a combination of natural features and fantasy
Sumeru is divided into 2 parts: Rainforest and Desert. The rainforest landscape gives the impression of endless mountains in comparison to the pillars of Liyue and Inazuma’s rugged and strong environment. The trees and plants show traits similar to that of tropical rainforest characteristics like vividness, vitality, and humidity. Similarly, the desert has Desert Storms, Oases, Vegetations that need water, Rocks eroded by wind and sand, and Sacred Ruins with historical elements. Developers have tried to bring a combination of natural features and fantasy.
The teaser 02 shows a landscape with various kinds of regions in the fantasy forest
When players first arrive at the fantasy forest, they would see a city build under a giant tree. The people of this nation worship the Dendro Archon, who is supposedly the youngest of all the archons. Players would meet spirits in the forest. The spirits could only be seen by the children and to gain the trust of the spirits players need to solve some crises deep in the forest.
There are various kinds of regions in the forest. A region with huge trees where it rains all year, a region where the forest has withered for some unknown reasons, and also special ecological zones formed by huge umbrella-shaped luminous plants.
In another forest, there are remains of a giant robot lying between the cliff of the mountain. And from someplace a mysterious force seems to erode the forest. On the west of Sumeru City, players can see the desert area of Sumeru. There are also many different regions deep within the desert. Also, there is another giant robot deep in the desert.
Sumeru’s Culture, Creatures, and Society
Sumeru is the kingdom of wisdom. The state affairs in Sumeru are handled by an organization called Akademia. Knowledge in Sumeru is managed as a resource and this is managed by the Akasha system. Another interesting thing about people in Sumeru is that most of them (adults) are not capable of dreaming, which is why there is a saying, “People of Sumeru don’t dream”, also local people are proud of it, considering this as a testament to their rationality and wisdom.
The humidity and soil of Sumeru’s forests are the ideal conditions for Shroom-kin to thrive. And with their increased ability to grow and reproduce, they have evolved into completely new species called Fungi.
The highest form of Fungi have developed animalistic features and are very aggressive and territorial. The raid forest is home to many new varieties of creatures. Travelers would meet many companions on their journey in Sumeru. The traveler would be meeting:
- Tighnari, an Amurta Researcher also serves as Forest Watcher.
- Alhaitham, is from the Haravatat in the Akademiya.
- Dehya, is a Desertfolk and a mercenary for The Eremites
- Nilou, is a Dancer
- Nahida, a mysterious girl
- Cyno, The General Mahamatra
Final Thoughts
Players have to explore and solve the mystery behind the force that is eroding the forest and what might be the relation between the robots in Sumeru. The whole design of Sumeru is completely different from all the regions that players were able to explore till now. It would be a completely new experience for the players.
