- Leaks suggest Genshin Impact in-game voice chat feature is finally here.
- Even with voice chat's addition, text chat would still be available as usual.
Fresh leaks from Version 6.4 suggest that Genshin Impact may finally be getting an in-game voice chat system, something players have been requesting for years. In this article, I’ll break down everything revealed so far, including what the voice chat feature is, how the voice chat feature is expected to function, and more.
Genshin Impact Version 6.4 Leaks: A look into the Voice Chat feature
Some players may already be familiar with the history and rumours surrounding voice chat, but for those who aren’t, I’ll explain everything in detail. The first hints about this feature surfaced during the Genshin Impact Miliastra’s Wonderland beta testing.
When Version 6.0 was live, there were rumours that voice chat would come with Miliastra’s Wonderland. Miliastra’s Wonderland was eventually released in Version 6.1, but the update didn’t include any voice chat functionality.

After that, there was no further information until Version 6.3. As we know, the Version 6.4 beta began shortly after the 6.3 update went live. Now, several reliable leakers are claiming that the long-awaited voice chat feature could finally arrive in Version 6.4.
If this feature does make it into the game, it could change a lot in Genshin Impact. Until now, we could only communicate through text chat, but with this addition, voice messages would also be an option. And for players who aren’t comfortable using voice chat, text chat would still be available as usual.

Based on current leaks, the feature is expected to debut in Miliastra’s Wonderland, with plans to expand it to the regular chat system in Genshin Impact later on. The voice chat can be used when players are in the same lobby, and up to 12 players will be able to use it at the same time.
Genshin Impact Version 6.4 Leaks: What players can expect
For some players, this feature will be a real game-changer, while for others, it may feel a bit inconvenient. Since the Miliastra’s Wonderland update introduced multiple multiplayer game modes in Genshin Impact, voice chat can be especially useful when playing with friends. You don’t have to text anymore and can talk directly, which is very helpful.
That said, for players who don’t have close friends in Genshin Impact yet, this feature could feel a bit troublesome. If you are playing a multiplayer game in Miliastra’s Wonderland, but if you don’t have any friends, then you have to talk with strangers, or stay silent throughout the match.
Final Thoughts
In my opinion, it’s a very good feature now that we can directly talk with our friends in Genshin Impact. With this voice chat, we can connect with more players, and we can make more friends. Let’s hope this time the feature actually makes it into the game.
