Google Play Games on PC will release in Japan and Europe soon

Another step towards hassle free cross-platform gaming

Google Play Games is the talk of the industry as it offers an opportunity for fans to play their favorite mobile games on a PC. The news comes as part of the announcement made by Arjun Dayal, Director, of Google Play Games at the Google for games developers summit. The application has received a positive response from the targeted audiences as per reports. Google Play offers a catalog of top-tier games and over 10 billion monthly sessions on mobile, hence the positive response is not a surprise.

With Google Play Games the developers aim to make a presence in the PC gaming market

The developers have marked their quote that Google Play Games will help increase user reach, engagement, and ROI and build high-quality games across Google surfaces. The primary aim still remains at making the cross-platform play between users of different platforms a bit easier and easy to access. The Google Play Games beta was the first step for the same, which was released in January 2022, and recently saw a release in eight other countries including the US.

“Today we announce how we’re making cross-platform game development even easier, by continuing to simplify and improve the onboarding process for Google Play Games on PC.” quoted the Director, of Google Play Games at the summit.

The developers are also eying the opportunity to scale up their operations in the overseas market. The program will be expanding to Japan and countries in Europe in the next couple of months and adding several new games including Garena Free Fire, Ludo King, and MapleStory M. As the app will progress further down the line the catalog will be updated with many more such titles for players to play on PC.

One of the problems most mobile gamers face when playing games on PC is optimization. The games are not built to be played on PC which affects the performance regardless of the results. However, with Google Play Games the developers are aiming to fix this issue and deliver the best experience for the users.
