Hearthstone Battlegrounds will receive exciting new features with the arrival of Season 2 on August 30th, 2022. Season 2 adds a new Battlegrounds Track, Battlegrounds Season Pass, Battlegrounds Missions, Battlegrounds XP, Legendary cosmetics, hero and minion updates, and a gleaming new Magic of Azeroth cosmetic theme to the mode.

Battlegrounds Quests
Quests add a new twist to the Battlegrounds gameplay mechanics. This limited-time event provides players with a quest challenge on turn four. They can complete earning a powerful reward that will boost their play for the rest of the match! The quests and rewards are paired at random to ensure that no two games are alike. In addition, eleven new minions join the fight, as do two new heroes: the gifted detective Murloc Holmes and murder victim Sire Denathrius.
New Battlegrounds Track and Season Pass
Battlegrounds will now have its own Track where players can earn a variety of Battlegrounds-specific emotes, cosmetics, strikes, and other rewards. To advance along the path, simply earn XP by winning games and completing Missions, which are new tasks exclusive to Battlegrounds.
There’s also the Battlegrounds Season Pass, which can be purchased with real money, or Runestones, Hearthstone’s new virtual currency. The Season Pass grants access to two additional hero options as well as premium rewards on the track, including higher-tier cosmetics.
The Magic of Azeroth
Make a statement with a new set of magical-themed cosmetics! This season marks the debut of the Magic of Azeroth, with plenty of sparkles and shines to enhance your appearance. The Dark Flight has launched a crusade to eradicate all traces of magic from society in a new, alternate timeline.
It is up to the Guardians of Azeroth and their allies to awaken the power within them to save Azeroth’s Magic! Players will have the opportunity to shine with new legendary hero skins and boards, which will feature voice lines and animations and will change in appearance depending on your position on the battlefield.
