Hearthstone Battlegrounds will receive exciting new features with the arrival of Season 4 on May 9th, 2023 with Patch 26.2. Buddies will be taking a break starting on May 9 while E.T.C.’s World Tour makes its way to Battlegrounds, bringing with it a new hero and a stadium full of new minions!
Hearthstone Battlegrounds Season 4: Key Highlights
New Hero – Rockmaster Voone and new Upbeat Minions
The star of the show, Voone, is prepared to rock! His passive Hero Power grants players a plain copy of the leftmost card in their hand every third turn. To get the best card in perfect rhythm, time the beat!
Voone isn’t the only happy performer on the bill. “Upbeat” minions are those that have special abilities that activate periodically while they are in play. The longer you keep them active, the more frequently their effects begin to work. These minions put the “band” in players’ “warband”!
Hearthstone Battlegrounds Season 4: Key Updates – Poisonous, Venomous, and Windfury
In Battlegrounds Season 4, some keywords are being updated. The Battlegrounds keyword Venomous is taking the role of Poisonous in Bob’s Tavern. The first minion Venomous minion damage during a round of combat is immediately eliminated. Venomous is comparable to Poisonous in that it only triggers once (unlike Reborn and Divine Shield), though. It’ll be interesting to see how the Tavern will evolve as a result of the switch from Poisonous to Venomous.
Mega-Windfury is also being taken out of Battlegrounds. From this point forward, a tripled Windfury minion will still possess the original Windfury. Eliminating that interaction would improve the game’s consistency and provide with more areas to investigate in the future because Windfury was the only Keyword that produced a “double-buff” when the minion was tripled.
Massive Minion Type Remix
The whole Battlegrounds minion pool is being redesigned and remixed for Season 4. The minion pool is being emptied of 59 minions. It will be replaced with 58 new minions and bring back 3 previous minions! A few of the lingering minions are also getting updates. These are all the minion types:

- Naga
- Undead
- Pirates
- Demons
- Quilboar
- Mechs
- Neutrals
Battlegrounds Track Refresh
Season 4 of Battlegrounds will launch on May 9 after Season 3 concludes. Players will then transition to the new Season 4 Battlegrounds Track and start collecting rewards there. Rewards from the Season 3 Battlegrounds Track that have already been earned but have not yet been claimed will be automatically made on players behalf.
The Season 4 Battlegrounds Track has brand-new musical and E.T.C.-themed cosmetics. Choose the Season Pass to receive an additional +2 Hero options at the beginning of each game. Then, as playwers advance along the Track, they’ll be able to unlock all of the new E.T.C.’s World Tour Legendary Strike stages. They will also be able to earn up to 15 more Hero Skins throughout the Season.

Hearthstone Battlegrounds Season 4: Tour Dates
Battlegrounds will undergo many changes, minions are being rolled out in phases rather than all at once. Six sorts of minions will be the initial batch, and the remaining types will be added over the following few weeks. In addition to spreading the excitement, this will allow players to master the Minions-type changes without feeling overwhelmed. As the changes are released, it will be discussed at a special preview event and some upcoming Dev Talks. Here’s the lineup:

Battlegrounds Preview Event
Players from all over the world will be taking part in preview broadcast events on May 4 and May 5 and interacting with the fresh Battlegrounds Season 4 content. The only minion kinds that will be available when Patch 26.2 goes live are the six Undead, Beasts, Murlocs, Dragons, Elementals, and Naga types. Players who take part will broadcast to their own channels and give away Season Passes to their viewers. The participating players are:

Battlegrounds Twitch Drops
Players can obtain the Brann Bronzegill Battlegrounds Hero Skin by watching any Hearthstone Twitch stream for an hour between May 9 at 10 a.m. PT and May 16 at 11:59 p.m. PT. They should make sure to connect their Battle.net and Twitch accounts so that their viewing time contributes to drops.
