The long wait for MOBA fans in India is coming to an end as Tencent Games has finally opened its doors with Honor of Kings release announcement. The exact launch date is not yet released but it is expected that Honor of Kings will launch in India with the rest of the globe on June 20, 2024.
Clash of Titans socials have already been renamed to HOK India
The news was first surfaced on the official HOKIndia Instagram account. This used to be the account for the Clash of Titans India. If you do not already know, Clash of Titans was the Indian version of Arena of Valor. And this could not do well in this market.
With this new initiative, it looks like India’s mobile MOBA scene will get a massive boost. The country does not have Mobile Legends: Bang Bang and League of Legends: Wild Rift. At this moment, the only available mainstream mobile MOBA game is Pokemon UNITE.
Honor of Kings aims to have a vibrant esports scene in India
That Instagram post from HOKIndia also revealed that Tencent Games will be supporting the region with esports initiatives, under the broader South Asia region, “Stay tuned for all upcoming news, updates, and Esports invitationals right here on this channel”.

The esports fans in India have been longing for more support for a while now. The country faced a lot of ban waves for the popular titles. With limited esports opportunities around Brawl Stars, Pokemon UNITE, and Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI), the arrival of HOK in India will bring is breath of fresh air for the fans.
HOK India release might open doors for more titles from Tencent Games
It is not unknown that almost all the titles from Tencent Games skip the India launch. However, GamingonPhone previously reported that, HOK spinoff, Honor of Kings: World has already passed the trademark approval hinting at a launch. But the launch of HOK in India was unexpected by the fans, including me.
This came as a pleasant surprise. But what interests me more is that the launch of HOK in India can be a game changer. And if things go right, I’m sure that more titles from Tencent Games will follow the India release considering how big the country is, in terms of mobile gamers. This can open up doors for all the HOK spinoff titles that are under development.
Tencent Games’ publishing wing, Level Infinite mostly handles the publishing for its mobile games. But this will not be the case for India, however. Clash of Titans is published by Actoz Singapore, and this is most probably the same publishing account that will be used for the Honor of Kings’ India release. GamingonPhone has reached out to Tencent Games for a comment on this and will update this piece as and when we receive an official response.
