- Minecraft Blast introduces match puzzles to the iconic blocky universe, currently in early development.
- The game offers vibrant puzzles, familiar mobs, exploration, adorable visuals, building, and more.
- More regions will be added later, and the team plans to expand to more mobile platforms in future tests.
King, known for Candy Crush Saga, has launched a playtest of its match-3 puzzle title, Minecraft Blast, now available on iOS in Malaysia. Developed in collaboration with Mojang Studios, now owned by Microsoft, this spin-off is part of their plan to bring more Minecraft-based titles to mobile.
Enjoy an adorable twist on Minecraft in a fresh puzzle format
So, you can now freshly experience the world of Minecraft with Minecraft Blast, which blends modern match puzzle gameplay with fun scenarios based on the classic blocky universe. Here, you get to clear challenging match puzzles using familiar Minecraft blocks, boosters, and surprises.

I’ve spent a great deal of time in Minecraft with my friends during the COVID years, so seeing it reimagined as a match-3 puzzle game is something I never expected. But here we are, and we can still unlock and build creative Minecraft-style spaces, from small cozy homes to impressive castles.
Players can meet iconic Mobs and explore diverse locations
Moreover, if you’re a fan of the original like me, you’ll likely enjoy seeing the familiar Mobs return, including Chickens, Zombies, and even the sneaky Creeper that everyone hates. Moreover, you can also explore a variety of locations, such as a lively village, caves, and even pirate ships.
Honestly speaking, the game does look enjoyable with its adorable take on the characters and the blocky world, and I’m just curious to try it before giving a full opinion on it. And while I never wished for a Minecraft meets Candy Crush-like title, I hope this one works out well, as the devs promised, “the game will evolve with expanded content.“
Minecraft Blast is now available as a playtest on iOS in Malaysia, and you can download the game via the App Store. Stay tuned as more playtests will be available in the future, even for Android.
