KRAFTON is sued over alleged sexual assault and wrongful termination

A very shocking and sad situation!

In a recent legal battle in the gaming industry, KRAFTON, the company behind popular games such as PUBG mobile, is being sued for alleged sexual assault and wrongful termination. A former employee has reportedly filed a lawsuit alleging that she was fired after reporting sexual assault by a top executive.

Former KRAFTON Executive accused of alleged sexual assault on an employee at company party after game awards

The lawsuit, filed in December 2023 at the Los Angeles Supreme Court, alleges a series of disturbing events. The woman, who worked for KRAFTON from 2021 to 2023, claims that former KRAFTON executive Kevin Kimball sexually assaulted her on December 8, 2022, at a work-related event following the Game Awards in Los Angeles.

According to the lawsuit, the assault took place at a party hosted by Striking Distance Studios, a subsidiary of KRAFTON. The woman claims Kimball made unwanted advances and assaulted her in a restroom stall after giving her more alcohol. What saddens me the most is that, despite reporting the assault to KRAFTON management, the lawsuit claims that her complaints were ignored, and she was fired two months later, which she views as retaliation.

Kevin Kimball, the accused, did not respond to requests for comment. I understand our curiosity and desire to learn the truth about this situation but KRAFTON, recognizing the gravity of the allegations, declined to comment on the specifics due to the ongoing legal proceedings.

The lawsuit raises the broader issue of workplace misconduct and the gaming industry’s responsibility to address such issues. I sincerely hope such wrongdoings will not occur again in our beloved gaming industry. As the legal battle progresses, it prompts reflection on gaming company culture and the need for strong measures to prevent and address harassment and assault.
