A big deal goes through!

Story Highlights
  • KRAFTON has acquired a majority stake in Nautilus Mobile, the studio behind Real Cricket.
  • Nautilus Mobile, previously acquired by JetSynthesys, will continue collaborating as a minority stakeholder.
  • The acquisition aims to expand Real Cricket, boost mobile gaming, and develop the e-cricket Esports ecosystem.

KRAFTON has taken a big step in India’s gaming industry by acquiring a majority stake in Nautilus Mobile, the studio behind the well-known Real Cricket series. The deal, worth $14 million (₹118 crore), is KRAFTON’s first major investment where it takes full control of an Indian gaming company.

Nautilus Mobile, founded in 2013, has made Real Cricket one of the most popular mobile cricket games. Starting with its 2D version of games, we then got the Real Cricket experience in 3D, where it also released a simpler, easy-to-play version in Real Cricket Swipe last year.

KRAFTON and Nautilus Mobile will look to push e-Cricket and Esports opportunities

KRAFTON had already invested $4.7 million (₹40.5 crore) in the company back in 2022, and following that, on Nautilus’s 10th anniversary, it was acquired by JetSynthesys. With this KRAFTON acquisition, the goal is to combine Nautilus Mobile’s expertise in cricket games with KRAFTON’s global resources.

Sean Hyunil Sohn, CEO of KRAFTON India, said: “As an existing investor in Nautilus Mobile, we have witnessed the company’s impressive growth and its ability to deliver world-class gaming content under Jet Synthesys’ leadership. This acquisition is a testament to our long-term vision of making India a global hub for game development.”

Anuj Mankar, CEO of Nautilus Mobile, and Rajan Navani, the Founder CEO of JetSynthesys, also expressed their excitement about the partnership, which they believe will “explore new opportunities in mobile gaming” and “build the e-cricket Esports ecosystem in India and the world”.
