Exos Heroes, a fantasy RPG developed by Oozoo Inc and published by LINE Games have officially announced the decision to shut down the game. The game is scheduled to close permanently on May 11, 2023, along with the Exos Heroes community, and the feature for writing posts is also being discontinued.
The reason for the shutdown was the direction Exos Heroes was taking
Exos Heroes was enjoyed over a million players for three years now, since its initial release in Korea on November 21st, 2019. The turn-based combat and the hero system were very much in-line with the game’s plot, where players took an epic quest to find ‘Exestruk,’ the emperor’s missing sword, and the ancient dragon’s curse.
However, the makers of the game chose not to continue the project and called it an end to Exos Heroes this Wednesday, 29th March, after delivering 12 seasons of the game. In their blog post, the team cited the reason for the discontinuation being the continuous concerns about the direction Exos Heroes was taking persisted with the team, which ultimately took an effect.
These concerns were not likely to be addressed any time soon, and the team determined that continuing to provide reliable services for the game would be difficult. As a result, they decided that it would be better to permanently suspend the game after failing to find a suitable solution.
Players will also be unable to download the game from app stores after April 6. The developers have also stated that they will cherish their memories of creating the game and its players and that they hope to see the player base again in a future project.
