Metal Slug: Awakening, the latest release in the Metal Slug franchise will be getting a get a soft launch in SEA regions soon. Once the release in the select markets has been concluded, the game will then move forward with the global release.
Metal Slug: Awakening concluded its second alpha test in October last year
First announced for mobile back in 2021, Metal Slug: Awakening cooled down for a year before it had two alpha tests with the recent one being in the Philippines and Indonesia which shut down in October last year. There were not many announcements after that, and now the SEA soft launch would be a great way to begin the launch process.
This Metal Slug installment retains the beloved classic gameplay of the original franchise but elevates the visual experience by transitioning from pixel art to stunning 3D graphics. While preserving the iconic side-scrolling mode, the game introduces exciting new elements such as the Hot Pursuit mode and Maze modes.
The game is set to have a release across eight regions in South East Asia, which are as follows: Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau, Vietnam, Thailand, Philippines, and Indonesia. It will most likely be for both Android and iOS. However, neither the launch date nor the global release date has been announced by the makers yet.
