Mobile Legends set to celebrate Magic Chess 2nd Anniversary with exciting features and more

Mobile Legends: Bang Bang will celebrate the 2nd anniversary of one of its infamous arcade game modes, which is Magic Chess. It also has its own ranking system, where players can climb from Warrior, Elite, Master, Grandmaster, Epic, Legend to Mythic. Magic chess will celebrate its 2nd anniversary and Moonton is set to entertain its players with exciting features including a new commander and new gameplay.

The update will be launched on the 30th of January, 2022 as Magic Chess Season Seven will end its long journey. There are major changes for the upcoming updates, as some synergies get nerfed, while others get buffed. Moonton will also introduce Austus as its latest commander with “Hunter Griffin” skin will be available for purchase.

Mobile Legends Magic Chess 2nd Anniversary: Preview

One highlight point in the upcoming patch is the introduction of a new mechanism which is Evolution. Every synergy that requires 4 or 6 unique heroes, once completed, can trigger Evolution, which allows players to choose one of the two evolution paths to customize the synergy as they desire.

The combat in Magic Chess will be changed with the introduction of this new gameplay feature called “Magic Frenzy”. From now on, all 3-Star Heroes in Magic Chess will trigger multiple synergies. Other features that will entertain the players in the Magic Chess mode are Revamped battlefield and some new colors during gameplay.

Austus: Set Skills and Appearance

The latest commander in the Magic chess mode, Austus will take the form of a fearsome Owl with three diamonds necklace on its neck. Austus itself resembles one of Mobile Legends heroes, Kaja.

Commander Skills

 Power of Shadow

Austus gains a shard on each win. After collecting 6 shards, Austus can cast this skill to ignite the Shard Totem, granting a random amount of Gold.

Blade of Resonance

Austus gains a shard each time a 2-Star hero is obtained. After collecting 6 shards, Austus can cast this skill to ignite the Shard Totem, granting a Mirror Device.

Forest’s Blessing

Austus gains shards each time an allied hero is killed and can ignite the Totem with shards on each win, granting rewards according to the number of shards he collected.

  • Original Totem: No rewards.
  • Silver Totem: Grants a random 5-Gold hero.
  • Gold Totem: Grants a random 2-Star 5-Gold hero.

Mobile Legends Magic Chess 2nd Anniversary: Brand-new skins

There are two skins that will be added during 2nd-anniversary event.

  • Players who have joined the Jovial Conductor event during this time will be able to get a free skin called Jovial Conductor for the commander Connie.
  • Players who have reached the Master rank and above in Season 7 of Magic Chess will receive the Lotus Pixie skin for the commander Saki.
  • The Hunter Griffin skin will be available for the new commander Austus.
  • Players who purchase the Magic Chess Pass will get the Excavator Kaboom skin for the commander Kaboom.

New Magic Pass

Excavator Kaboom skin will await in the new Magic Pass and Magic Pass Plus. Frigid tranquility magic board is provided in the upcoming Magic Pass. The Magic Chess Pass and Magic Chess Pass Plus will also be available for purchase to the players for 450 and 875 diamonds respectively, after a discount of 65%.

Final Thoughts

The upcoming patches will bring a new adventure for Magic Chess players within its new gameplay and mechanism. Austus appearance as a new commander will bring challenges for already overpowering commanders like Mavis and Yuki.
