New tank hero Chip in the Advanced Server!

The new Hero of Chip has recently been released on the MLBB Advanced Server with the latest Patch Update. The release would imply it will be the 124th Hero in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang. This new hero is unique and amazing, as it is a tank and support hero capable of creating portals. Without much further ado, let us check out all that is needed to know about the abilities of Chip and the overall hero overview in Mobile Legends.

Mobile Legends Chip: Hero Overview

Portal creations are his main specialty as he and his allies can easily move through them, thus creating a new kind of mobility. With this new portal creation ability that Chip has, he sure seems to be a worthy support/tank hero capable of changing the tides of the battle. Let us check out these abilities in detail.

Abilities

Passive: Snack Time

Chip starts eating potato chips when out of combat, regenerating HP equal to 150 plus 15% after finishing a whole bag (requires 5 bites). After eating a bag of chips, Chip cannot eat again for 5s.

Skill 1: Crash Course

CD: 5.5s (CC, AOE Skill)

Chip runs his hovercraft into the ground, dealing Magic Damage equal to 220/250/280/310/340/370 plus 5% of the target’s Max HP and applying Chip’s Mark on enemy targets hit. Chip gains a 300/400/500/600/700/800 (+60% Total Magic Power) Shield upon hitting an enemy hero, which increases by 20% for each additional enemy hero hit.

Chip’s next Basic Attack will become ranged and also hit all nearby enemies with Chip’s Mark, detonating the mark to deal 200/230/260/290/320/350 (+40% Total Magic Power) Magic Damage and stun each target for 0.6s.

Skill 2: Overtime

CD: 15s (Speed-up)

Chip rushes forward for 2s, gaining speed until he reaches 65% extra movement speed, after which he manifests the max speed for 2s. Chip’s next Basic Attack will cause him to charge at the enemy, dealing 200/220/240/260/280/300 (+30% Total Magic Power) Magic Damage and knocking them back slightly.

Skill 3: Shortcut

CD: 60s (Teleport, CC)

Chip drops the Main Portal on an enemy hero, dealing 200/250/300 (+60% Total Magic Power) Magic Damage and slowing them down by 30% for 2.5s. Meanwhile, he creates Connecting Portals near allied heroes (excluding allies within 8 units of Chip) and behind the allied Base. The Main Portal and Connecting Portals last up to 10s.

  • Connecting Portals: Heroes can teleport from Connecting Portals to the Main Portal, or stand on the Main Portal for some time to return to the Connecting Portals they came from.
  • Main Portal: Deals 600/750/900 (+180% Total Magic Power) Magic Damage to nearby enemy targets after a delay and knocks them airborne for 0.8s. The Main Portal inherits 80% of Chip’s HP.

Skill 4:  Why Walk

CD: 40s (Teleport)

Chip has 4 Beacons on the map, where can stand on a Beacon to enable this skill and then use it to teleport to any other Beacon.

Mobile Legends Chip: Skill Analysis and Hero Overview

Chip is a very unique Support/Tank hero with very unique mobility abilities. As we all know, Teleport is a very unique ability never seen before in MLBB, it seems similar to the Long Arrival spell. However, Teleport is an instantaneous transport mobility mechanism.

It is quite efficient on the battlefield, as Chip can easily teleport all allies to gank or take any objective or even mark a specific hero. This and many more perks make him a very viable character whilst initiating and engaging enemy targets as a roamer.

Abilities Breakdown

Analyzing her skills, we would realize that Chip’s passive is quite cool as it’s a bit similar to Franco’s HP Regen passive. The % of HP recovered when Chip finishes a whole bag of Chips in 5 seconds can be very useful as it reduces the number of times he has to recall to refill his HP. Coupled with Guardian Helmet, Chip would be a viable roamer who’s always available by his teammates’ side.

Chip First Skill provides decent damage, CC, and sustenance in the form of Shield which helps whilst engaging enemy targets. The decent 0.6 secs stun could help during team fights especially when faced with multiple enemy targets. Analyzing Chip’s second skill, we would observe that it provides extra mobility which could be great in entering or leaving team fights. Coupled with the decent pushback the skill provides, if properly timed it could help during ganks.

Chip’s third and fourth skills both serve as a form of Teleportation. His third skill can be used by both him and his allies to teleport to a designated enemy target location, whilst, his fourth skill can only be used by him to teleport to the location of another specified Beacon. His third skill is very useful as allies can all teleport to the Main Portal already set up on an enemy hero via the Connecting Portals.

This is very useful as it helps to collectively take down objectives or to even easily maim the target enemy hero. Imagine all heroes suddenly showing up at the edge of Turtle or Lord instantaneously! In short, Chip is another amazing hero with a unique skillset that provides him and his allies a cool form of mobility, that is very helpful in getting in and out of team fights.

When will Chip release in the Mobile Legends Original Server

Players are quite optimistic about meeting this portal-creating hero, Chip. However, players might just have to wait till mid March 2024 before they can get their hands on this fun hero on the Original Server. Chip is expected to launch in MLBB with the new All Stars event on March 16th, 2024.
