MOONTON Games has announced an exciting partnership with PGL with the goal of expanding the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) Esports ecosystem to Europe. This collab introduces the first ever PGL MLBB Challengers, which also marks PGL’s debut MLBB event in Europe. It follows last year’s team up with Qiddiya.
Europe now joins MLBB’s established esports system
I can’t be more happy seeing MLBB Esports is finally expanding beyong Southeast Asia into different regions like Turkey and now this. MLBB already has the global appeal with over 1.5 billion installations, and Europe gets to be a part of its eight-year esports ecosystem. Moreover, PGL is not just any random choice as well.
PGL has the repuration as one of Europe’s leading esports organisations with CS2 and DOTA2. So, their experience in running large-scale international tournaments should me enough to win over fans. And I believe the kind of regional experience they bring to the table is exactly what MLBB needs to deliver a solid competitive experience for the community.
Players and teams can now register for the Open Qualifiers
Coming to the competition, PGL MLBB Challengers Open Qualifier kicks off on January 13, giving aspiring teams a direct slot to the PGL MLBB Challengers Main Event. It will follow a single elimination BO1 format, with the top 8 qualifier teams also earning a spot in the main event, set from January 16 to 18.
During the Main Event, Phase 1 matches will follow BO3 format, while latter Upper and Lower Brackets rounds move up to a BO5 format. And I’m not sure how the teams will play out because they’ll take part in a BO7 during the Grand Finals, where the winners will be finally crowned.
From a fans perspective it will be very fun to witness what level of competitive gameplay the teams will bring to this inaugural tournament.
