- The devs cite rising operational costs as the reason for the closure, though the team tried to keep it alive.
- You can request refunds until April 30, 2026.
Papergames has announced the shutdown of their beloved dating sim, Mr Love: Queen’s Choice, now no longer available to play. Originally launched in 2019, the game even had an anime adaptation by the powerhouse MAPPA, but has now ended after so many years of memorable service.
Devs say operational costs forced the closure of the game
So, Mr Love: Queen’s Choice was a popular otome visual novel title set in a fantasy setting, where you get involved with four male characters with superpowers. Here, you could choose one of the four to romantically pursue, text, chat, and even call them, while developing your career as a media producer.
Unfortunately, Mr Love: Queen’s Choice revealed via X(Twitter) that the game has now discontinued its services, stating, “increasing operational costs challenges have made it increasingly difficult to continue running the game.” I do appreciate the team for trying their best, though, but it is what it is.
7th Anniversary update delivered a bittersweet farewell for fans
And, they actually tried their best to make the fans happy one final time by releasing the 7th Anniversary update, and I’m sure everyone had a great yet bittersweet moment with the anniversary event, rewards, and more. That said, if you’re planning to get refunds, you can request them until the end of this month.
The fans are really sad about this decision, and I can understand, as everyone has given “years of time, money, and effort to collect cards.” And many are rightfully demanding “an offline version.” Some fans even signed petitions to keep the game, and that just shows how much everyone loved the game.
