NetEase releases visual novel platform ‘Dokific’ to target female players in European and American markets

NetEase plans to target the European and American markets with Dokific!

Chinese game development company NetEase released a visual novel platform named Dokific. Dokific was launched for both Android and iOS platforms. Netease claims that Dokific will allow users to play a set of selected and specially curated visual novel games in English. This move comes as an attempt by Netease to take control of the European and the American market by targeting female players.

As of now, users will be able to play several visual novel game titles on Dokific, for example, Dating in Painting, Love Again (Editor’s Choice), The Glory of Desolated Planet (Hot), Rose Flame (Excellent Recommendation). Dokific aims to make the platform the home for both creators and players. The app is supposedly the global version of Yiciyuan, a text adventure ACG game platform only available in the Chinese market. Yiciyuan made this official through an announcement on their website.

Dokific aims to help the creators to bring their stories to life

Dokific claims to be aiming at creating an immersive and easy-to-use space for both creators and players. With access to a wide range of interesting visual novel works and a seemingly easy-to-use editor, Dokific might as well become the go-to platform for creators to bring their stories to life, with all the free-to-use features available.

On the other hand, Dokific claims to be filled with High Definition character sets, BGM, VFX, and animation to help creators craft a grand story coupled with Easy mode, which allows the users with technical expertise and the advanced mode.

This lets users control the way the game is played. Players can also buy props or unlock game plots with the in-app purchase function. Dokific has included tons of free tutorials to get started with and have access to the exclusive creators’ academy to welcome new users and get them used to the setting of this platform.

Although some parts of the app seem to be still in development, Dokific claims to be adding new content to the platform. The app is currently available in English and Thai versions, but not in other Asian languages like Japanese, South Korean, or Vietnamese. There is no information yet on the platform’s release in these languages. Players can stay updated about all the information by visiting the official NetEase website.
