Online streaming platform Netflix is considering launching a cloud gaming service which is hopeful for achieving success. During a discussion at the TechCrunch Disrupt event, Netflix’s vice president of games Mike Verdu revealed that Netflix has been investigating its possibilities regarding opening a cloud gaming service for its subscribers so as to reach members on TVs and PCs. The statement came on a day when Netflix announced that it already has 55 games under development.
Netflix’s Vice President talks about Stadia and the lessons he learned
Mike Verdu stated that adding a cloud gaming service will be pretty beneficial in the long run to Netflix’s business model. Recently Google shut down its cloud gaming platform Stadia only after three years of its launch. While in the TechCrunch Disrupt event Vice President of Netflix games Mike Verdu said that the business model will be different from Stadia.

Upon being asked by the event host how Netflix will avoid standing a failure like Stadie he replied that even though Stadia had achieved technical success but it lacked in the business model and had some issues. Although he refused to point out those mistakes as Google had taken a really bold gamble and he also added that he had fun playing games on the platform.
He also added that Netflix will not be asking people to subscribe to it as a console replacement and so the streaming Giant is hopeful of achieving success in this field where Google deliberately failed. Netflix’s cloud gaming service will approach in the same way as the mobile games do and Mike Verdu also here states he is hoping that with time it becomes natural to play games wherever any user lies.
