Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent – Story and English release details
Octopath Traveler was released in Japan for mobile on October 28, 2020. The single-player JRPG game was an instant hit as it amassed 10 million players in the first month after its launch. It was a prequel of the 2018 title Octopath Traveler which featured forming a party of four characters.
But the Octopath Travellers: Champions of the Continent JRPG mobile edition made several improvements with increasing the number of characters a player can form parties to eight, with its iconic HD-2D art style and traditional turn-based RPG mechanics, the game experience is truly Japanese inspired RPG where players traditionally move characters around the map. With a series of updates after the launch, the team has added new maps, characters, and equipment.

The game has no stamina system found in it so users can play the game at their own pace without having to wait or pay for stamina, the monetization is taken care of by the gacha system with which users can obtain playable characters with variable rarities.
Early in January 2022 the series producer Tomoya Asano said that a new Octopath Traveler game is already under development for consoles. He also said that they will release multiple games in 2022 besides the already revealed Triangle Strategy, launching on Switch on March 4.
