- Plants vs. Zombies 3 is coming back soon with revamped visuals, gameplay mechanics, and exciting new content.
- It offers multiple game modes, fresh plants, new sections, and more to explore.
- The limited test is currently live and will continue until May 8, 2025.
Plants vs Zombies 3, the tower defense strategy title from Electronic Arts, is currently doing a limited test in China, available to selected participants. This comes after the game was pulled from soft launch on app stores for a major overhaul, following an earlier revamp.
We might be getting the revamped Plants vs Zombies 3 soon
It seems like Plants vs Zombies 3 is finally coming back, now undergoing a limited test in China. The Plants vs. Zombies game, recently rated by the Brazilian classification board, further indicates the possibility of this one or a rumored Plants vs. Zombies Reloaded title.

The devs had previously revealed plans to overhaul the game, including a potential change to the current art style, aiming to provide an even better experience. Sources close to GamingonPhone confirmed the China test, and we were able to verify the news ourselves.
I was fortunate to try out the revamped version firsthand, and I must say I am impressed. The visuals and aesthetics of the game have been completely refreshed, now looking more captivating.
You can now utilise the Clover plant to evolve other plants
Plus, gameplay has also been enhanced with cool mechanics, like a new plant, Clover, that can evolve other plants into wild plants, blow away all balloon zombies, and fog.
By dragging this plant to your normal plants, you can evolve them, and the new plant gets characteristics of both, like nut wall can now float, peashooters gain a knockback effect, and sunflowers can push back enemies by blowing wind. I enjoyed this new gameplay.

Beyond that, you can also explore various modes, like the World Adventure, the Nut line of defense, and the Invasion of Giants, which can have translation errors. Plus, there are various sections for tasks, collection, backpack, plant, and a detailed illustrated book. You can view your plants’ skills and stats there.
The limited test began today and will run until May 8, with servers shutting down on May 9, wiping out all progress. As a bonus, it’s also providing testers with 1,000 diamonds daily for just logging in to the game. We can expect the game to launch soon, based on the recent progress.
