If the latest reports turn out to be true, EA Sports‘ FC Mobile could see some big gameplay changes pretty soon. It looks like the Player PlayStyles system for the player cards from the EA FC series is coming to mobile as per reports, and it surely is something to look forward to.
If PlayStyles are implemented, this would be FC Mobile’s biggest gameplay upgrade in recent times
So, let me give you a quick overview of PlayStyles in EA FC. Introduced in FC 24, PlayStyles are not just upgraded traits. They sit on top of a player’s attributes and activate automatically during specific actions on the football pitch. They reflect how a player plays in real life as well.
FC 26 in particular got a plethora of new playstyles, and I believe the developers thought that with the PC and Console getting so much love in a new playstyle, it is time to give the mobile version to have fun with this. Currently, we only have a Traits system for a player on mobile, which is different from PlayStyles.
From the details available, PlayStyles across different areas like Goalkeeping, Physical, Defending, Passing, Ball Control, and Finishing. These are also expected to work on four different levels, apply to individual players only, and allow you to equip, unequip, or even remove PlayStyles from a player.

Again, let me tell you, this isn’t official and just reports. Still, when you picture this system arriving in FC Mobile, it becomes pretty clear that it would be extra fun. Squad building would instantly become deeper. The meta would shift away from pure OVR chasing and using different players with different playstyles to make the squad tick.
If I were to compare, the football competition on small screens for FC Mobile, KONAMI’s eFootball 2026, has the player playstyles for forwards, midfielders and defenders since its introduction. It genuinely is a very good player categorization feature as you have so many combinations and matchups you can make while building your squad.
So, when will this arrive? There are no dates since this isn’t official, and although similar reports in the past have eventually turned out to be accurate. Here’s me wishing this comes true, because this is surely a game changer.
