Raid Battles in Pokémon Go

Raid Battles take place when the Pokémon Gym is taken over by a Raid Boss Pokémon. Players can come across them if they keep an eye around local Gyms and also look for eggs that are about to hatch along with Boss Pokémon that are a part of the current Raid scheduled for August 2023 in Pokémon Go.

These Pokémon are very tough opponents so it is recommended for the players to go in groups of trainers to have a better chance at victory. Different Pokémon require different types of counters and strategies based on their type and tier. it can be quite confusing and complex for new and old players alike, so they can take the help of our raid guides against the likes of Regidrago, Cressilia, Xerneas, and Yveltal amongst many others in order to seal their victory,

Raid Battles occur in four tiers which are 1-Star, 3-Star, 5-Star, and Mega Raids respectively. The higher the Tier goes, the harder the raid becomes against that Pokémon. Even though it takes quite the effort to complete Raid Battles, it is worth the time as players get the chance of catching the Pokémon they just beat along with earning other special items. Also in the case of 5-Star Raids, players will get a chance of catching Legendary Pokémon which they won’t be getting anywhere else.

Raid Passes in Pokémon Go

Players need to get hold of a Raid Pass because without it they won’t be able to take part in a Raid Battle. They can earn one Raid Pass by spinning the Photo Disc at any Pokémon Gym once every day or they can also purchase a Premium Raid Pass from the shop if they run out of Raid Passes.

Players also have an option of getting Remote Passes in Pokémon Go. This is for trainers who can’t get out of their houses to take part in Raid Battles as this pass lets them join any nearby battle which is accessible from the map view of their mobile screens.

How to catch Pokémon during Raid Battles in Pokémon Go

After defeating a Pokémon during a Raid Battle according to the schedule in Pokémon Go, players are presented with the chance of catching it. They can do so by using Premier Balls as they’ll be provided with a certain number of them after they win.

There’s no guarantee as to whether they’ll be able to catch the Pokémon, especially if it is a Legendary one as the catch rate for them is very low. But there are some ways that players can use to increase the number of Premier Balls they receive to increase the number of tries they’ll get to catch the Pokémon.

  • By participating in Raids with friends.

Players can also use Razz Berries or Gold Razz Berries to help them catch Raid Bosses along with commencing excellent throws or spinning curveballs will also increase their chances.
