Pokémon Go rolls out the Item Sharing feature in Party Play

New feature!

Pokémon Go has reportedly started rolling out the highly awaited Item Sharing feature in the game. While many players have noticed it working within the game’s Party Play mode, some users have reported that the feature has not yet appeared for them.

However, this doesn’t seem like a new update, say players. Many on the r/TheSilphRoad subreddit have claimed that this feature was available to them a couple of months ago, and to be fair, some posts suggest the same.

Party Play mode gains more value with the introduction of the Item Sharing feature

So, if you haven’t got this feature across your devices, let me explain to you how it works. In the Item sharing option in Pokémon Go, you can now share items from your bag like Star Pieces, Lucky Eggs, and Incense, with up to four other players in your party. This will activate only in the Party Play mode.

The duration of these items will be divided among everyone, but the effects will stay the same. This makes it particularly handy for Community Days and Raid Days. Any shared items can go up to 1 hour from 4 increments of 15 minutes. The mechanics are a bit unclear though, specifically whether only the party leader can activate item effects or if all members can do so.

Within the Party Play mode in Pokémon GO, you are allowed to group with other players or friends and participate in events or challenges. This mode enables players to form parties with friends or other players, making it easier to tackle group activities such as raids, battles, and special events, and with the sharing feature now active, it will attract more players in.

If you are among the ones who didn’t get the feature live on the game yet, don’t sweat! I think this is region-wise rolling out of the feature, or even depending on your progress. Either way, it should be available soon to all.
