Although it doesn’t seem a long way so far, the Pokémon Unite MOBA has touched its 2nd year. With over 50 Pokémon in the roster, despite the initial controversies regarding matchmaking, the roster is still growing within the game. As the game approaches its 2nd year of existence, the developers have announced something that surely many wanted to happen. The best part was, the announcement came out of nowhere, just like the time of Clefairy. With the 2nd-anniversary celebrations, Pokémon Unite has announced the arrival of Mewtwo.
Pokémon Unite 2nd-anniversary celebrations: Mewtwo to join the fray in two forms
It is now official and confirmed that the legendary artificial Psychic-type from Generation I would join Pokemon Unite as a playable character on the 21st of July, 2023. The players were already awaiting the release of the Water-type starter Inteleon on the 4th of July when the date got postponed from the 3rd of July. Now that July would already see two Pokémon joining the game, the release of Blaziken would be postponed to September, as per the reliable datamine leaker ElChicoEevee.
Mewtwo might be having two of its mega-evolutionary forms X and Y coming as different Unite licenses. Now, whether the original Mewtwo form would be in the game or not, is not known as of now. Besides, it is also unclear if both the forms as licenses would be released on the same day or not. However, considering that the next known Pokemon’s (Blaziken) release is getting postponed to September, it makes sense if one form comes in July, while the other in August.
More events and modes will be introduced
It is also evident that a new battle mode would be introduced as a part of the 2nd-anniversary celebration. Needless to say that the celebration would also include numerous rewards, and whether a Mewtwo license is among those rewards, only time will tell the answer.
